Girl's Day members have reunited for Minah's debut as a musical actress.
This past October, it was reported that Bang Minah has been cast in the 2020 version of the musical play "The Days." She will be taking on the role of "the woman" who went missing 20 years ago. This marks her very first musical role. In addition, she will be working with SF9's Insung, Highlight's Yang Yoseob, Yoo Joon Sang, Lee Gun Myung, Min Woo Hyuk, Cho Hyung Kyun, On Joo Wan, and Jung Sung Hwa.
"The Days" is an original musical play in Korea that is based around the tracks of the late singer Kim Hwang Seok. The play is set in the security office of the Blue House, the residence of the South Korean president, and occurs over 20 years.
On Nov. 20, Minah uploaded two sets of photos via her personal Instagram account revealing that her bandmates have come to support her for her musical debut in "The Days." In the caption, Girl's Day Minah wrote, "Girl's Day is my strength, and Girl's Day is my life, lala lala la lala lala la." Captured backstage, the pics show all four members of the girl group together after several months.
Minah's fellow Girl's Day members, who came to see her for her musical debut, have also commented on her post. Hyeri and Yura left heart emojis, while Sojin wrote, "Keep going strong through the very last show."
All four members of the girl group were last seen together this past July when Girl's Day celebrated its 10th anniversary of debut. On July 9, Minah, Hyeri, Sojin, and Yura took to Instagram to upload photos that they had captured together, along with messages in which they expressed their happiness and gratitude to all the people who supported them.
Meanwhile, the musical "The Days" will take place from Nov. 13 to Feb. 7 at the Chungmu Arts Center.
Girl's Day Minah is currently active as an actress after not renewing her contract with Dream T Entertainment last January 2019. That same year, she returned to the small screen when she was cast in the Korean remake of "Absolute Boyfriend" as one of the main characters, along with Yeo Jin Goo and Hong Jong Hyun.
"Absolute Boyfriend" is based on a famous Japanese manga series of the same name that was written by Watase Yuu. It is a romantic comedy that tells a story of a woman who was always rejected and found herself in a love triangle with a top actor and a robot, which was designed to be her ideal boyfriend. It was broadcast from May 15 to July 11, 2019.
Earlier this year, Bang Minah has been chosen as one of the cast members of an upcoming film titled "Long Time No See." She will be taking on the main roles alongside Lee Ga Seob. The movie is about Yeon Kyung (played by Minah) who wishes to become a singer-songwriter. She then meets Hyun Soo (played by Lee Ga Seob), who developed an admiration for her for persistently chasing her dreams. But due to unpredicted circumstances, the two were unable to maintain their communication with each other. But one day, Yeon Kyung unexpectedly runs into Hyun Soo, who is both a scar from her past and her first love.
