On Friday, Dec. 4, Billboard released their year-end charts. To people's surprise, the "Top Social 50 Artists of 2020" was dominated by K-Pop artists. Keep on reading to learn more.
Within the top ten of the list, seven of the spots are taken by K-pop groups. The non-K-pop artists on the list are Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande, and the Filipino boy group SB19.
Sitting at number one is the "Princes of Pop," BTS! The group has topped the said charts 207 times, making it an all-time high for any artist. It is no surprise BTS has topped the rankings.
Previously, the group became the first all-South Korena act to tp the Billboard Global 200 and the US Billboard Hot 100 with their song "Dynamite" and their remix of "Savage Love (Laxed - Siren Beat)." They recently made history once more by having their predominantly Korean-lyric song, "Life Goes On," debut at the top of the Billboard Hot 100.

The infinite-member boy group NCT 127 took third place. In 2017, NCT 127's extended play "Limitless" debuted at the top of the Billboard's World Albums Chart. Later that year, their song "Cherry Bomb" was named one of the best K-pop songs of the year.
Their 2020 album, "Neo zone" become their first-ever top-five entry on the US Billboard 200 Chart. It is also the unit's first album to sell over a million copies!
PLEDIS Entertainmet boy group SEVENTEEN ranked at number four. In 2015, SEVENTEEN ranked as the only K-pp group on Billboard's 21 Under 21: Music's Hottest Youngest Stars" list. Their 2019 album "An Ode" was critically acclaimed as the best K-pop album of 2019 by Billboard.

Previously, TXT topped the Billboard Emerging Artist Chart and became the fastest K-pop group to appear in the World Digital Songs charts.
The KQ Entertainment boy group ATEEZ ranked at number eight. The group previously peaked at number three on the charts back in January. Their 2020 album "Zero : Fever Part.1" peaked at number eight on the Billboard World Albums Chart.
In August of this year, ATEEZ peaked at number four on the Billboard Emerging Artist Chart.
The last K-pop girl group on the list is notably the only girl group as well. BLACKPINK ranked at number nine!
BLACKPINK is the highest-charting Korean girl group to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard 200, peaking at number 13 and number two respectively. BLACKPINK is the first K-pop girl group to debut and top the Billboard's Emerging Artist Chart. They are also the first K-pop girl group to top the World Digital Song Sales Chart three times.
