Soloist Chungha has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19).
On Monday, Dec. 7, MNH Entertainment announced through Chungha's official fan cafe that the idol has tested positive for coronavirus. The agency informed fans that the idol voluntarily got tested after it was discovered that she recently came into contact with a confirmed patient.
MNH Entertainment also informed fans that she will be halting all activities and will be self-quarantining immediately. Chungha and her agency are taking all necessary measures and are strictly following the guidelines set by healthcare authorities.
Additionally, the agency informed fans and news outlets that any artists, staff, and people who came into contact with Chungha or were in the same vicinity as her will be undergoing testing to see if they were infected with the virus. They will follow-up on their status as soon as it is confirmed.
Chungha was set to release her first-ever studio album, three years after her debut as a soloist, on January 2021. To hype up the release of her album, Chungha was set to release and promote the pre-release single, "X", on Dec. 10. However, with news that the idol has tested positive for the virus, all promotional activity for "X" has been canceled.

Our artist, Chungha, has tested positive for COVID-19.
Chungha recently voluntarily got herself tested after it was discovered that she was in contact with a confirmed patient. She got the results of her testing on the morning of Dec. 7.
Chungha has halted all promotional activity and will self-quarantine immediately. We will also be following the necessary measures and guidelines set by the healthcare authorities.
Currently, all artists, staff, and employees who had overlapping schedules with Chungha or had been in contact with her will be undergoing COVID-19 testing.
As soon as we receive the results, we will update everyone.
We will strictly follow the government's guidelines and will be conducting general inspecting to see if the company's overall environment shows any rise of further infection and we will be putting in all the effort necessary to protect our artists."
2020 has been a busy year for Chung Ha. Back in Jan of this year, Chung Ha collaborated with Paul Kim for the single "Loveship." A month later, she released the song "My Love" for the soundtrack of the SBS drama "Dr. Romantic 2." She made a comeback with the single "Everybody Has" that same month. In March, she signed with an American agency, ICM Partners, for her global promotions.
In April, Chung Ha collaborated with TVXQ's Changmin for the song "Lie", which was included in his debut EP. She made her comeback in April with the song "Stay Tonight," with peaked at number nine on the Gaon Digital Chart and number four on the Billboard World Digital Songs chart.
In May, she released the song "My Friend," which features pH-1. The song is produced by Zion.T. In July, she dropped the pre-release song "Play." In September, Chung Ha released the song "You're in My Soul" as a part of the soundtrack for the tvN drama "Record of Youth."
In September, Chung Ha collaborated with the Danish singer Christopher for the single "Bad Boy." The live version of "Bad Boy" was released on Sept. 23 and the music video was released on Sept. 25. In November, Chung Ha signed with 88rising.
Her last release before testing positive for coronavirus was on Nov. 27. She collaborated with R3hab and released the single "Dream of You."
