Apink Shock: Girl Group to End 2020 with a Bang; 'Pink of the Year' Concert Details Revealed

Apink fans are in for a treat as the girl group announced, on Dec. 11, that they are preparing for a grand online concert. While there were limited details given, here are some of the things avid followers of the group can expect.

Apink Shocked Fans with an Event Announcement

The South Korean girl group took to Twitter to promulgate the exciting news. The girls shared they would be doing the "Pink of the Year," which is an online concert and fan meet. During the event, Apink and their avid followers are expected to communicate with each other and talk about how things have been going on amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Apink and fans are even expected to look back on the previous months and share their emotions and experiences they had since the start of the quarantine. The concert would be done virtually to keep the idols and their supporters safe, especially now that the number of COVID-19 cases continue to rise worldwide.

The "Pink of the Year" concert would be held on Dec. 27 at 7 p.m. KST. Apink fans can start buying electronic tickets on Dec. 15 at 5 p.m. KST. One ticket cost 33,000 won ($30.22). However, devoted followers of the girl group may, also, opt to buy a package worth 52,000 won ($47.63), which include an online ticket and a behind-the-scenes photobook.

Apink even encouraged their avid supporters to submit their chants that would be used in the forthcoming "Pink of the Year" concert. Fans can upload their sound files in WAV and MP3 formats for the songs "Dumhdurum," "I'm So Sick," and "Only One."

To recall, Apink graced the TikTok Stage Live From Seoul event in May. The concert series aimed to raise funds for COVID-19 relief efforts. Two months later, Eunji, who is one of the members of Apink, held her first-ever online concert after announcing her solo comeback.

Apink Celebrated Their 9th Anniversary This Year

Earlier this year, Apink reached another milestone in their career. As the group turned 9 years old, Son Na-eun, Jung Eun-ji, Yoon Bomi, Park Cho-rong, Oh Ha-young, Kim Nam-Joo and Hong Yoo-kyung released a new track called "Dumhdurum" in April.

Black Eyed Pilseung wrote the dance-drive track, which is Apink's ninth EP since they were launched in 2011. The K-pop producer duo were, also the brain behind the group's previous hit singles titled "Eung Eung" and "I'm so Sick."

Park Cho-rong said, in an interview, that they were really happy with their latest single. The band leader even revealed they were relived after learning Black Eyed Pilseung wrote the song since they know them pretty well and they always have Apink members and fans in mind whenever they are composing songs.

Another group member claimed they wanted their "Look" album to become a reminder of what their group is all about. Oh Ha-young added that the EP showcased the charms of all Apink members, bannering the message of self-love and being unapologetic of your own characteristics while living a life freely.
