BTS and TWICE were selected as the 63rd Charity Angel Groups of December, as both groups ranked first in the accumulated ranking, also called the "Hall of Fame", on "Choeaedol".
BTS maintained their title of charity angel for the second consecutive month, topping the male group cumulative ranking. BTS, who received 2,987 out of 3,000 points, thanks to the passionate love and support they have received from their fandom, the ARMY. So far, a donation of 22 million won under BTS name was submitted. BTS has donated a total of 44 times, with 21 times being as donation fairs and 23 times as charity angels.
Recently, BTS was named "Entertainer of the Year" by TIME Magazine, a renowned publication from the United States. BTS was praised as the most popular musical group on the charts and the largest band in the world. In their interview with TIME Magazine, BTS confessed that they feel like they grew up with their fans, showing their deep affection for their ARMY. Previously, the boys were nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance" at the 63rd Grammy Awards.
TWICE, who scored 2,986 out of 3,000 points, boasted their unbeatable popularity by keeping their title as charity angels for four consecutive months after reclaiming the position in September. So far, donations made under TWICE name has surpassed 21 million won, donating 13 times under the title of donation fairies 12 times and 29 times as charity angels, totaling 42 total donations.
Previously, TWICE surprised fans by dropping their concept teasers for their surprise new song, "CRY FOR ME". The song will be released on Friday, Dec. 18. "CRY OR ME" is a song about the complication of feeling both love and hatred for someone. Park Jinyoung, the founder of JYP Entertainment and a famous singer-songwriter, produced the song. Recently, TWICE finished pre-recording for the 2020 KBS Song Festival.
BTS and TWICE, the two charity angel groups for the month, will both donate 500,000 won each to the Miral Welfare Foundation, which will help support the disabled as they seek jobs.
Back on Saturday, Dec. 12, BLACKPINK member Lisa and Kang Daniel were selected as this month's individual donation angels. Kang Daniel earned a score of 2,978 points out of 3,000 points and he has donated an accumulated amount of 31.5 million won, He has been awarded the title for 16 consecutive months.
Lisa, on the other hand, scored 2,981 out of 3,000 points. Lisa has been the charity angel for four consecutive months and has donated an accumulative amount of 40.5 million won.
Previously, BLACKPINK member Jennie was named as one of the new donation fairies on "Choeaedol".
Meanwhile, EXO ranked second in the male idol group category, followed by GOT7 in third place. For the female idol group category, BLACKPINK ranked in second place, followed by Red Velvet in third place.
