Burger King Hands-Free Whopper: New Burger Variety Helps With Multitasking, 'Can You Use Your Hands…And Eat Whopper At The Same Time?' [VIDEO]

Burger King is offering a new innovation in the field of burgers – the Hands-Free Whopper. The new item is inspired by Whopper-lovers’ need to multi-task while enjoying the famous menu mainstay.

The plastic burger-holding device hangs from the neck, leaving your hands free to do whatever else you want.

In a video posted by Fox News that announced the new Hands-Free Whopper, a caption reads, “In a world of multitasking, how can you use your hands to do your daily activities and eat a Whopper at the same time?”

The Burger King-produced video showed happy Whopper-eaters using their hands to ballroom dance, practice karate, box, trim hedges, give massage and shoot hoops.

The burger chain first debuted the Hands-Free Whopper in celebration of its 50th anniversary in Puerto Rico, where it gave away 50 devices.

Ryan Broderick of BuzzFeed calls the food item, “the perfect device for people who are too lazy to move their hands while stuffing their face.”

The writers of USA Today Sports analyzed if eating the HFW is a sport. And their verdict: “Not a sport.”

Michael Katz wrote, “While you will definitely be sweaty after eating with the Hands Free Whopper, the act alone is not itself a sport.”

He added, ”But the HFW does make it significantly easier to compete athletically while consuming a Whopper, which is great and should not be discounted.”

At the time of this writing there's no announcement on or if the burger holders will be available in mainland U.S.
