TWICE Drops Official Audio for New Song 'CRY FOR ME'

The prominent K-pop group TWICE released its new song "CRY FOR ME," which first gained massive interest when it was released during "2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards."

In particular, TWICE released its new song "CRY FOR ME" official audio on various music sites and platforms on this day, Dec.18 at 2 p.m. KST.

"CRY FOR ME" was written by JYP's CEO Jin Young Park or J.Y. Park along with female singer-songwriter Heize. In partnership with them, Ryan Tedder also composed the song, with the help of global hit song makers Melanie Joy Fontana and Michelle Lindgren Schultz.

Meanwhile, the anticipation of fans and netizens, especially ONCEs (fandom of TWICE) rose as the top-notch girl group surprised and teased music fans with their new song during their performance stage at 2020's MNET Asian Music Awards on Dec. 6.

The fans and supporter who had a hunch that it was TWICE's pre-released song at the time, made headlines by searching for "CRY FOR ME" on numerous music sites and streaming services, even posting real-time search words, which lead to a worldwide trend.

On the same topic, TWICE officially released "CRY FOR ME."

In the lyrics such as "Slightly falling in again / My resolution collapses again in love / Making excuses to forgive / "Love is too compelling / It melts my hate heart / I want you again" / The opposite person betrayed love, but the opposite of the speaker's extreme emotions were expressed.

Meanwhile, the "CRY FOR ME" stage video is still a sensation, reaching 13 million views as of the press. As for the official MV, it is fans are still anticipating if it will be released, as according to members, there will be no music video. TWICE Global Achievements, Ranked 72nd on "Billboard 200"

TWICE, a nonet composed of Jihyo, Mina, Sana, Momo, Dahyun, Nayeon, Chaeryoung, Jeongyeon, and Tzuyu, are also making global achievements with their recent release.

The female group is proving their influence and music prowess as they recently entered Rolling Stone's "Top 200 Album" ranking at 139th place, with their second full-length album, "Eyes Wide Open," which was unveiled on Oct. 26.

TWICE also ranked 73rd on "Artist 100," second place at Billboard's "World Album," and 12th place at "Top Album Sales."

On top of these achievements, they recently broke their own record as well when they ranked 72nd on Billboard's main chart, "Billboard 200."
