TC Candler has addressed a particular fan's question about Bae Suzy and Red Velvet's Irene missing from "The 100 Most Beautiful Faces of 2020" list. And fans are unhappy with their response.
TC Candler recently revealed its annual, widely-known "100 Most Beautiful Faces" rankings for this year, and it includes a total of 24 female K-pop stars. However, two famous visuals of South Korea's entertainment industry were not in it: actress and solo artist Bae Suzy, and Red Velvet's leader Irene.

Bae Suzy has been included on the TC Candler "100 Most Beautiful Faces" rankings seven times, with her highest ranking being at No. 11 back in 2014. Last year, she ranked as the 60th most beautiful face in the world.
While many are expecting Suzy to be on the list once again, the idol's name didn't show up despite her claiming a spot around the middle part of the rankings for the past several years.
Aside from Suzy, Red Velvet's Irene, who is also well-known for her goddess-like visual, didn't make it to TC Candler's "100 Most Beautiful Faces," thus making many fans wonder why. Irene has appeared on the ranking four times, with the latest one being last year's list in which she was in 51st place.
Irene's highest position so far is 41st place back in 2018. Many fans are expecting her to rank high on the list this year. However, TC Candler excluded her from this year's rankings too.
A certain fan took to the comment section of TC Candler's announcement video of "The 100 Most Beautiful Faces of 2020" on YouTube to express how surprised he was to learn that Red Velvet's Irene and Bae Suzy are both absent from this year's rankings. The comment immediately earned thousands of likes, urging TC Candler to reply and explain their side.

According to TC Candler, Suzy has been on the ranking for so many years. This implies that she was removed from this year's order because of her frequent appearances. But then again, some celebrities on the 2020 ranking have been included more times than the actress.
In particular, it is the ninth time of Girls' Generation's Taeyeon this year, and the 22nd time of British actress and model Kate Beckinsale.
With regard to Irene, TC Candler further stated, "Irene probably needs a little time away from the spotlight. We thought we would respect her privacy during this time of reflection for her." TC Candler could be pertaining to the artist's recent "poor attitude" controversy in which a stylist accused her of bullying as she revealed that she was hurt by her foolish attitude and careless words and actions.
Having said that, the scandal took place two months ago, and Red Velvet's Irene has already made her appearance in the public through photoshoots following the incident. She is also confirmed to participate in SM Entertainment's upcoming SMTOWN Live "Culture Humanity" concert.
