GOT7 Yugyeom Reportedly Leaving JYP Entertainment and Signing With AOMG

According to reports that came out on Wednesday, Jan 6, GOT7 member Yugyeom will be leaving JYP Entertainment and signing with AOMG once his exclusive contract with the former company expires later this month. Keep on reading to learn more.

On Wednesday, Jan. 6, SPOTV released an exclusive report stating that Yugyeom will be signing a new exclusive contract with the hip-hop label AOMG once his exclusive contract with JYP Entertainment expires later this month. According to the report, Yugyeom had been meeting with various agencies concerning what company to call his next home following his time with JYP Entertainment and is positively considering joining Jay Park at AOMG.

GOT7's contract with their home label, JYP Entertainment, will be expiring later this month. This is the second time a GOT7 member has been reported to be leaving JYP Entertainment, with fellow member Jinyoung speculated to move to BH Entertainment following his contract expiration.

JYP Entertainment has released a statement on the matter, saying that they are holding numerous individual meetings with all seven members of GOT7 and are still discussing various options and angles concerning a possible contract renewal. They are also considering letting the members sign on with different agencies, but still, continue to work together as a group; as GOT7.

Back in Dec. 23, 2020, an exclusive report from TV Daily reported that GOT7 member Jinyoung recently had several meetings with the acting agency BH Entertainment and was positively discussing signing on a new exclusive contract. He reportedly met with other companies but was positively considering BH Entertainment.

At the time, JYP Entertainment released a statement stating that it was true that GOT7's contracts would be expiring in Jan. 2021, and that they were currently discussing various possible outcomes with the members concerning which path they wish to take in their careers. They also stated that they are still discussing with Jinyoung concerning a possible contract renewal.

BH Entertainment also released a short statement on the matter, stating that they have not heard anything about an exclusive contract. However, it should be noted that they neither confirmed nor denied having met up with GOT7 member Jinyoung. BH Entertainment is an acting agency that houses numerous household names, such as Lee Byun Hyun, Park Bo Young, Kim Go Eun, Go Soo, and Han Ji Min.

GOT7 first debuted under JYP Entertainment in Jan. 2014. In 2020, GOT7 released their eleventh extended play "Dye", with the lead single "Not By The Moon". The said extended play sold 281,791 copies within the first week of its release, breaking their personal record for first-week sales. "Dye" also debuted at number four on the Billboard World Albums Chart.

On Nov. 2020, GOT7 released their fourth studio album "Breath of Love: Last Piece", with the lead single "Last Piece". To hype up the release of their album, they released the pre-release single "Breath".
