BLACKPINK, NCT, TXT & More: K-Pop Acts Who Topped This Week's Gaon Charts Revealed

BLACKPINK continues to break records after records after their much-awaited comeback on Oct. 2, 2020. Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo, and Rosé returned to the music scene with their newest LP called "The Album," and most of its tracks, such as "How You Like That" and "Ice Cream," have been dominating music charts and digital sales tallies up to this writing.

Recently, BLACKPINK made another record after it was able to maintain its No. 1 streak in the Gaon Social Chart 2.0 for eight months straight. For December 2020, Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo, and Rosé were followed by BTS in No. 2 and Im Young Woong in No. 3 positions. On the other hand, IZ*ONE and Yang Joon Il placed fourth and fifth, respectively.

This week, BLACKPINK continued its dominance in the Gaon Social Chart 2.0 after pushing BTS to the second spot. Song Ga In, Park Seo Jin, and Im Young Woong, on the other hand, completed the top five in third, fourth, and fifth rankings, respectively.

As for the Gaon Monthly Album Chart, NCT reigned supreme with their album called "RESONANCE Pt. 2," which effortlessly peaked at No. 1 during its first week. "One-Reeler/Act IV" by IZ*ONE got the No. 2 spot, followed by Kim Ho Joong's "The Classic Album I" and "The Classic Album II" in the third and fourth spots. "KAI" by EXO member Kai completed the top five.

The "minisode1: Blue Hour" album of TXT dominated the Gaon Weekly Album Chart this week. "BORDER: DAY ONE" by ENHYPEN, "Dream" by Song Ga In, "Ayo" by Kim Jae Joong, and "DISHARMONY: STAND OUT" nabbed the second, third, fourth and fifth places, respectively.

"VVS" by Khundi Panda, Munchman, MUSHVENOM, and Mirani pushed "Dynamite" by BTS in the second spot of the Gaon Monthly Digital Chart. "Shiny Star (2020)" by Kyoung Seo took the third rank while "Can't Sleep" by Jang Beom and "Tomorrow" by Lil Boi, Giriboy, and BIG Naughty took the fourth and fifth spots this week. Meanwhile, aside from topping on of the Gaon charts, BLACKPINK was also victorious in the MelOn daily charts. As a matter of fact, Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo, and Rosé's "Lovesick Girls" and "How You Like That" tracks are now the highest-charting songs by a female group on the said tally.

The news came a day after BLACKPINK's "How You Like That" dance performance video was able to break the 500 million views mark. Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo, and Rosé's "Whistle" official music video surpassed 600 million views on YouTube before the new year.

As of this writing, the "DDU-DU DDU-DU" music video has the highest number of views among all the BLACKPINK music videos uploaded on YouTube with more than 1.4 billion views. "Kill This Love" followed with more than 1.16 billion views and "BOOMBAYAH" with more than 1 billion views as of press time.

"As If It's Your Last" has a total of 938,160,807 views, "How You Like That" has a total of 7,25,244,664 views, "Playing With Fire" has a total of 603,76,491 views and "Whistle" got 603,514,562 views.
