The majority of 2020 was successful for the Yuehua Entertainment girl group. On Feb. 3, 2020, they released their first mini-album "Reminiscence," with the title track "DUN DUN." The song peaked at number 53 on the Gaon Download Chart while the mini-album itself debuted at number four on the Gaon Album Chart. The girls were also set to embark on a North America tour and had already played in Dallas, Texas before the rest of the tour was canceled due to the coronavirus outbreak

On Sept. 21, 2020, the group released their second mini-album "-77.82X-78.29" with the lead single "LA DI DA." The song was well-loved by music critics and was even included in numerous "Best K-Pop Songs of the Year" lists that were published by numerous publications. All in all, it seemed like EVERGLOW was on the rise to stardom.

However, a user on an online community forum has pointed out that for the last two months of 2020, EVERGLOW could not be found anywhere. In fact, the last time the girl group's Twitter account was updated was back on Nov. 28, 2020. Member Yiren shared a post following the airing of the "You Hee Yeol's Sketchbook" episode they were in. Since then, no other member has posted on the account. The staff has also not updated the fans on their whereabouts and only updated the EVERGLOW staff on Twitter to greet Yiren a happy birthday on Dec. 29, 2020.

Their YouTube channel, which once saw multiple uploads in a week, also abruptly stopped uploading videos. The last video they shared on the channel is dated Nov. 27, 2020, and is a behind-the-scenes look of the girls while backstage of "Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook".

On Dec. 1, 2020, Yuehua Entertainment announced that EVERGLOW members Yiren and Sihyeon tested positive for COVID-19. The other four members of the group had all tested negative, but would still quarantine themselves for two weeks as an extra precautionary measure. While it could be believed that the reason for EVERGLOW's absence is due to their health, many have also argued that by now, they should have been out of the recovery period and able to promote again. If not promote, then at least give fans an update on their situation right now.

The two weeks of self-quarantine have come and gone but alas, no word from the members. While most idol groups would greet their fans a "Merry Christmas" or a "Happy New Year," not a single group member posted a message to fans. The company also did not provide any updates concerning the health status of Yiren and Sihyeon.

Quick-eyed fans also noted that prior to the announcement of Yiren and Sihyeon's COVID-19 test results, the members would visit their fan cafe every day. However, starting Dec. 1, 2020, all the members had stopped checking the fan cafe. This has caused people to wonder if the members are sick, at home, or in their dormitory. Yuehua Entertainment is a company that often updates fans about their artist. They have even updated their Twitter regularly to inform fans about their other artists but had not said a word concerning EVERGLOW.

Due to the sudden silence from the group and their label, many are worried that the group is on the brink of disbandment. Many slammed Yuehua Entertainment for being too cruel to the fans who are worried about the member's health and the future of their group activities. Others also commented that it is a shame, as EVERGLOW had just recently started making a name for themselves in South Korea and already have a huge international fan base.
