After being hacked in late Dec. 2020, the late idol Goo Hara's Twitter account has been hacked yet again. Keep on reading to learn more.
On Wednesday, Jan. 13, fans were surprised to see a bizarre tweet posted to Goo Hara's account. In the tweet, it says that she wants to introduce guys to her members and asks people to reach oGoo Haraut to her KakaoTalk, a popular messaging app in South Korea.
The actual tweet reads, "I want to introduce some boys to my unnies. So if you know any single and kind oppas, please hit me up on my KakaoTalk," The tweet also included various KakaoTalk IDs. As of press time, the tweet has been deleted. Still, it understandably caused some concern among Goo Hara fans.
On Dec. 14, 2020, Goo Hara's was hacked. Fans were surprised to see a cryptic message was shared to her Twitter account, leading to concern and confusion to her fans. The hacker tweeted "123 9ld9c". The tweet was made at 12:50 AM KST. The time of the tweet and the contents of it sent fans into a frenzy, with many asking the hacker to stop messing with Goo Hara.
Unlike her Instagram, Twitter has not memorialized Goo Hara's account. Back on Dec. 10, the Instagram accounts of Goo Hara and the late Sulli were memorialized. This means that their Instagram accounts still show all the information and posts they left on the platform, but only those who were following the accounts before they became memorialized can get full access to all the content they shared.
Typically, families of the deceased can request to memorialize an Instagram account. Afterward, these accounts are left on the platform, but no one is given log-in access or interference.
On Nov. 14, 2019, Goo Hara passed away and was found at her home in Gangnam, South Korea. The cause of her death was ruled as a suicide after a note written by Goo Hara was found. The court ruled that there was no foul play after checking CCTV and seen she returned home at 12:40 AM with no visitors except for the housekeeper who found her body at 6 PM the next day. An autopsy was not performed out of respect for the family's request. Goo Hara passed away a month after her close friend and fellow idol Sulli took her life.
Goo Hara's funeral was held privately at the Gangnam Severance Hospital and was attended to by family embers and friends. A separate memorial service for fans was held from Nov. 25-26, 2019 at The Catholic University of Korea Seoul St. Mary's Hospital in Gangnam. Goo Hara's body was cremated on Nov. 27, 209, and her remains were enshrined at the Skycasttle Memorial Park in Gyeonggi-do.
Following Goo Hara's death, a national petition was submitted to the Blue House with over 200,000 signatures, demanding a more severe punishment to those guilty of filming sexual acts without consent and leaking and distributing it. After she passed away, it was revealed that Goo Hara helped report Kang Kyung Yoon to investigate Jung Joon Yong's chatroom case.
