Police Launches Investigation to Reveal if a Public Official is one of Kim Min Ju's Malicious Commenters

Recently, agency of IZ*ONE's Kim Min Ju filed legal suits against six netizens who continuously harass the female idol through SNS. Police are now conducting investigations if one is a public official.

On Jan. 14, Thursday, Mapo Police Station in Seoul confirmed that Urban Works, the agency of IZ*ONE member Kim Min Ju, has recently sued six people for defamation under the Information and Communication Network Act and is currently investigating related cases.

In particular, the agency filed complaints against six people for harassing their artists for years with malicious and defamatory remarks. Along with this, there are allegations that one of the netizens is recently appointed as a ninth-grade public official in Daejeon.

Urban Works Announces They Will Take Stern Legal Action Towards Malicious Commenters and Haters

Urban Works announced the legal complaints filing on its official SNS account on the Jan. 11, saying:

"We have confirmed several malicious postings that undermine the reputation and insult our artists, who have not stopped despite informing them about our strict legal action

We inform you that we have taken legal steps to protect our artists from groundless rumors.

I would like to inform you that the legal proceedings have been carried out on six people who are consistent and excessive."

They also revealed the six IDs of the unknown netizens, proving that they will not be lenient on giving appropriate punishments.

Suspicions That a Public Official is Among the Six Netizens Circulated Online

Meanwhile, according to reports, netizens that were sued by Urban Works came from the known Korean online communities such as "DC Inside" and "daily best/Ilgan best," three people from each site. There are also allegations that one of them recently passed the civil service level 9 in Daejeon City, sparking controversy.

In particular, an uploader posted a message last Dec. 31, saying that a sexual harasser recently passed the ninth-grade civil service examination, posted on the Blue House website.

The post said that a long-time user at the "DC Inside" Gallery has constantly posted malicious comments on underage girl group members aged 15 to 17 years old, but he dared to post a certification that he passed last year's Daejeon City civil servant recruitment test.

Police have launched an investigation into allegations that a netizen who wrote sexual harassment messages to Kim Min Ju was accepted as a ninth-grade civil servant.

As the controversy grew, there was even a message in the Blue House's national petition asking for a strict investigation of the haters and depriving them of their qualifications as civil servants.

Though the police announced that it is difficult to announce details, the attention of fans and netizens are still focused on the punishment for the malicious postings against the female star.
