BTS Jungkook Achieves Several Milestones with Solo Track 'Euphoria'

BTS Jungkook's solo track "Euphoria" has recently earned multiple achievements no K-pop song has ever done!

On Jan. 18, BTS Jungkook's "Euphoria" ranked No. 1 on the Guatemalan iTunes Top Songs chart. The song previously topped on the global music platform in 51 countries all over the world, and now it totals to 52 nations, breaking the idol's own record.

Even after two years of its release, "Euphoria" never loses its fame. In fact, it continues to attract more fans from other countries. It has now surpassed 200 million plays on Spotify, one of the world's largest music platforms. BTS Jungkook received the milestone in 875 days, becoming the seventh fastest BTS song to do so in a short period of time. "Euphoria" has become the very first solo track of a male idol to attain this feat.

Then, on Tuesday, Jan. 19, the official World Music Awards (WWA) took to its SNS accounts to share what Jungkook's "Euphoria" has achieved so far after its release in August 2018. WWA stated that the single is the most-streamed song by a Korean male idol (so far). The song of the BTS member is the most-streamed Korean B-side as well. Given that it has more than 200 million plays on Spotify, it is no doubt that it has obtained the titles.

"Euphoria" is also the best-selling BTS solo track. Previously, it has been revealed that the song is the best-selling B-side in K-pop with more than four million copies sold worldwide. It is also the longest-charting K-pop solo single on Billboard's World Digital Song Sales chart. For the week ending on Jan. 16, BTS Jungkook's "Euphoria" was at No. 8 in its 47th week on the ranking.

Billboard said that the single is a big statement piece and sets the overall mood of BTS's "Love Yourself: Answer" as optimistic. They also defined it as a song with "future bass leanings." As for the Grammys, they described it's as "an art-pop rabbit hole looking to the future."

Before, it was shared that "Euphoria" has the highest unique listeners for a BTS solo track on MelOn, the largest music subscription service in South Korea. Moreover, BTS Jungkook's "Euphoria" becomes the most-streamed BTS solo song and the third most K-pop solo single Spotify, following BLACKPINK Jennie's "SOLO" and PSY's "Gangnam Style."

Although it was revealed in April 2018, Jungkook's "Euphoria" was officially launched on Aug. 24, 2018 as part of BTS's third Korean-language album. It is defined as a song that stands out with an addictive chorus, a refreshing melody, and the idol's distinct clear voice. Upon release, the solo track trended worldwide and searchers for the word increased by 2883%. It was even featured as the soundtrack to the finale episode of the first season of HBO's teen drama, also titled "Euphoria."

In its first week after it was dropped, BTS Jungkook's "Euphoria" sold 15,000 digital copies in the United States, claiming the No. 12 spot for the best-selling songs in the country at that time. In Canada, it was the nineteenth bestseller upon release.

Congratulations to BTS Jungkook for these numerous achievements!
