On Sunday, Jan. 24, The Korean Brand Research Institute released their brand reputation rankings for singers in South Korea.

10. Song Ga In
Song Ga In is considered one of South Korea's most famous female trot singers. In 2019, she won the reality show "Miss Trot" and often appears on the KBS 1TV show "Golen Oldies". Her last musical release is the studio album "Mong", which was released on Dec. 26, 2020.
9. NCT
NCT (Taeil, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Taeyong, Ten, Mark, Yuta, Winwin, Haechan, Renjun, Jeno, Jaemin, Chenle, Jisung, Johnny, Jungwoo, Lucas, Kun, Xiaojun, Hendery, Yangyang, Shotaro, and Sungchan) is a boy group under SM Entertainment. The group is composed of sub-units NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream, and WayV. Member Sungchan revealed in an interview with Star News that a new NCT sub-unit will be debuting this year, 2021.
8. TWICE
TWICE (Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu) is a girl group under JYP Entertainment. The JYPE group is currently preparing for their second online concert, "TWICE in Wonderland", which will be held on March 6. The girl group will also be performing in TIME's "TIME100 Talks" series on Jan. 28.
7. Kim Hee Jae
Kim Hee Jae is a famous trot singer. He previously competed in the TV Chosun competition show "Mr. Trot", where he gained fame for his ability to recognize exact pitches. He is also a trot singer who is known to be a good dancer and it is rumored he was an SM Entertainment trainee for two years while he was a high school student.
6. IU
IU is often hailed as South Korea's most popular and successful female soloists. Just this month, IU won the Digital Daesang Song of the Year for her song "Blueming" at the 35th Golden Disc Awards. She will be releasing a pre-release single titled "Celebrity" on Jan. 27.
5. Young Tak
Young Tak is a singer, actor, songwriter, and TV personality. He originally debuted as a ballad singer in 2007 and transitioned to trot in 2016. He rose to fame in 2020 after winning second place in the TV Chosun competition show "Mr. Trot".
4. (G)I-DLE
(G)I-DLE (Soyeon, Miyeon, Minnie, Soojin, Yuqi, and Shuhua) is a multinational girl group under CUBE Entertainment. (G)I-DLE is the first group on the list to make a comeback in 2020, releasing the extended play "I Burn" with the title track "HWAA" on Jan. 11.
3. BLACKPINK
BLACKPINK (JIsoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa) is a girl group under YG Entertainment. The YGE girl group is currently preparing for their first online concert, "THE SHOW", which will be held on Jan. 31. The concert is held in collaboration with YouTube Music. Originally, it was scheduled to be held on Dec. 27, 2020, but was postponed due to COVID-19 regulations.
2. Lim Young Woong
Lim Young Woong is currently the most popular trot singer in South Korea. He rose to fame in 2020 after winning first place out of 17,000 other applicants in the TV Chosun show "Mr. Trot". He debuted four years prior, in 2016, with the song "Hate You".
1. BTS
BTS (RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook) is a boy group under Big Hit Entertainment. The group's latest musical release was back in Nov. 2020 with the studio album "BE" and the title song "Life Goes On". The mentioned song debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, making "Life Goes On" the first pre-dominantly Korean sung song to hit number one in the United States.
