Jennifer Lopez Says Thigh-high Boots Necessary For “Britain’s Got Talent” Performance Because She Cut Her Knee, But Fans Say Outfit Inappropriate

Jennifer Lopez's outfit for her performance during an episode of "Britain's Got Talent" received numerous complaints. But Lopez defends her wardrobe choice, saying it protected her injured knee.

Jennifer wore thigh-high black boots, fishnet stockings, and a skimpy, skintight bodysuit that left little to the imagination.

According to the media watchdog Ofcom, angry viewers have sent at least 100 messages complaining about Jennifer's outfit on the family show, Yahoo! reports.

In a statement, Ofcom said: "Ofcom can confirm that it has received complaints about Britain's Got Talent broadcast on Tuesday, which we are assessing but not currently investigating."

Us Weekly reports that many comments surfaced on Twitter bashing the star for her clothes.

"Totally inappropriate. Put some clothes on and keep your bits to yourself," one Twitter user said. "This is supposed to be a family show."

Another tweeted: "I'd be ashamed to Jennifer Lopez's family. What is she wearing? She's an artist, not a prostitute."

Lopez explained her outfit during an interview with Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills, Hello! Magazine reports. "I think people are so raunchier than I am. I feel like I'm so tame," she commented.

"We wore it at Billboard (Music Awards), and Britain's Got Talent said they wanted exactly the same. So I thought I'd wear the outfit in black. No-one complained at Billboard," Lopez said.

She also noted that the boots helped prevent further injury to her knees, which had been previously wounded in rehearsal.

"Luckily with that outfit, which is why I wore it on Billboard and on Britain's Got Talent, is that I can wear a very small knee pad underneath, because I have those tall boots. I was so happy that I could wear it as I was very raw from rehearsals and had cut it open the day before."

The star sang her new single "Live It Up," flanked by male dancers. "Britain's Got Talent" judges Amanda Holden and Simon Cowell didn't seem to agree with the negative remarks about her ensemble. Instead, they praised the singer for her performance.

"J-Lo's arse... I just wanted to bite it! It was fabulous," Amanda gushed on Twitter.

Even Simon, notorious for his rude comments, couldn't help but love Lopez's performance. "J Lo incredible on the show tonight. A total superstar," he tweeted.
