DSP Media to Debut New K-Pop Boy Group This Year

DSP Media will be launching their new K-pop boy group this year!

On Jan. 31, DSP Media shared the links of the official social media accounts of what seems to be a new group called MIRAE. The following day, the entertainment agency dropped an official logo motion via the band's SNS accounts, further confirming that they will debut a new boy group this year.

The name of the upcoming boy band is said to symbolize a new future of K-pop and their strong aspiration to become a team that will grow and become successful together. In addition, the group name contains a wish to move toward the future by giving happiness to the public.

MIRAE Consists of Seven Members

It is said that MIRAE will consist of seven members, which will be revealed through the group's YouTube channel and SNS accounts starting from Feb. 2. The teaser images will be revealed every midnight, while the teaser videos will be uploaded every noon.

Besides that, the members are expected to appear on their own variety show, which will be broadcast via Naver V Live and their official YouTube channel from mid-February. The reality program is said to be made up of eight episodes, in which MIRAE members will entertain viewers with their charms and funny side.

While the profile images of the seven members are yet to be revealed, two of them can be seen active in posting photos on social media and doing livestreams, and these are Son Dong Pyo and Lee Sang Min. Son is a previous contestant in Mnet's "Produce X 101" and a former member of X1.

It was revealed in mid-January that Dongpyo is getting ready to debut in a seven-member boy group under DSP Media. A source from the agency shared that time that the septet is filming a reality program and will debut in March this year.

On the other hand, the company has not yet officially announced that Lee Sang Min will be part of their upcoming band. But, considering that he has been appearing in MIRAE's SNS accounts, it could be a possibility that he is one of the members.

MIRAE will be DSP Media's very first boy group and the first act overall in almost four years since KARD's debut in July 2017. Also, it will the label's third active idol group, with the other two being APRIL and KARD.

DSP Media's Current Artists

Established in 1991 by Lee Ho Yeon, DSP Media is known for its success in various aspects such as K-pop, Korean drama, and TV show production. In 2010, it was the biggest rival of SM Entertainment.
