GOT7's leader, JB, recently emphasized the real status of his group after all members left JYP Entertainment in January.
On Jan. 19, all seven members of K-pop boy group GOT7 have gone their own paths after they decided not to renew their exclusive contracts with JYP Entertainment. Their departure from the label was a bittersweet moment for the fans, who are also called Ahgase or IGOT7. Fans are glad that each member can reach their dreams and be successful as a solo artist, but are also saddened that they will not be able to see them together very often.
Following the group's contract expiration with JYPE, many fans and netizens wonder what GOT7's real status is. Even though it was not officially announced that they disbanded, the situation still seems to be that way since it will be hard for them to promote together while they are under different companies.
JB Stresses What GOT7's Current Status Is
Recently, GOT7 JB went live on his personal Instagram account to communicate with fans. During the live broadcast, the male idol said that he will continue to promote GOT7 and JUS2, a duo that is made up of him and his bandmate, Yugyeom. He added that fans should not worry as the members will look for ways to be together again in the future.
GOT7's main vocalist then shared that he saw a lot of people saying that they already disbanded, and so he emphasized that GOT7 did not disband. He further stated that the members could not be easily separated from each other, implying the boy group's strong bond.
JB also mentioned during the live broadcast that if the band will establish its own company, they will name it after their fans, IGOT7.
What Happened to GOT7 Members after They Left JYP Entertainment?
Meanwhile, GOT7 JB has still not joined a new company and is yet to share what his plans are about his future career. Dispatch previously reported that the singer has received many offers from a popular hip hop agency as well as a global music label, however, he still looking for a place that will support him wholly as a solo artist. Yugyeom and Bambam are also yet to join new labels.
On the contrary, some of GOT7 members have already signed an exclusive contract with new agencies. Youngjae and Jackson joined Sublime Artist Agency, while Jinyoung officially signed with BH Entertainment, a famous acting company. Jackson has also released a new song titled "Alone."
As for GOT7 Mark, he recently returned to Arcadia, California and has reunited with his family. He is about to launch a collaboration song with Sanjoy, titled "One in A Million," becoming the second GOT7 member to drop a new track following their departure from JYP Entertainment. In addition, he will be uploading content to his personal YouTube channel.
GOT7 was with JYP Entertainment for seven years since their debut in January 2014. Although all members have left the company, they still own their group name, fandom name, songs, photos, and more, according to the exclusive bill issued by the Fair Trade Commission.
