aespa Releases Remake Song 'Forever' + MV Becomes Most Viewed in the Last 24 Hours

SM Entertainment's new girl group aespa recently dropped a new song and its music video is receiving lots of love from fans all over the world.

On Jan. 29, aespa officially announced that they will be releasing a new song, which is actually a remake of Yoo Young Jin's 2000 song "Forever." The track was accidentally teased by Cheon-hoon, the chief engineer of Sonic Korea Mastering Studio via his Instagram account on Jan. 21.

On the same day, the rookie group uploaded an aesthetic teaser photo that displays a snow globe with different symbols in it and the word "aespa" can be seen on its base.

Along with the image is the announcement that "Forever" will be launched on Feb. 5. This single was first released as part of SM Entertainment's holiday album "Winter Vacation in SMTOWN.com" back in 2000. Songwriter Yoo Young Jin is revealed to be the one behind the rearrangement of aespa's "Forever."

"Forever" is described as a mid-tempo ballad with warm acoustic guitar sounds and string instrumentals. It also features the fresh and bright vocal colors of aespa members. Consisting of lyrics about promising forever to a loved, the song shows off a completely different side of aespa from their powerful debut single "Black Mamba."

From Feb. 1, the new K-pop girl group dropped the teaser images of each member, starting with Ningning and was followed by Karina, Winter, and Giselle. On Feb. 4, a group teaser photo was revealed as well as a music video teaser. And on Feb. 5 at 6 p.m. KST, aespa has officially released the remake of "Forever" along with its music video.

Given that the song is included in the "Winter Vacation in SMTOWN.com," the music video for aespa's "Forever" gives off a Christmas vibe as props such as a snow globe, gifts, snows, plus the group's cozy outfits can be seen in the video.

Upon its release, the MV gained millions of views already, and as of Feb. 6, it already hit 3.5 million views. Because of this, the music video for aespa's "Forever" becomes the most-viewed K-pop MV in the last 24 hours, proving the large fan base of SM Entertainment's new girl group.
