Wonho's Upcoming Mini-Album Includes Duet with an American Singer-Songwriter

Solo artist Wonho will be making his much-anticipated solo comeback this month, and it will be with a release of a new mini-album. Recently, it was revealed that the album will contain a duet with an American singer-songwriter.

On Feb. 3, Wonho teased his delayed solo comeback with a photo showing the title of his upcoming mini-album and its release date. Based on the image, he will be releasing a new mini-album titled "Love Synonym #2: Right for Us." Two days later, the male idol shared the schedule for his return and this includes the reveal of the album's tracklist on Feb. 7.

Based on the image uploaded to Wonho's official SNS accounts, his upcoming mini-album "Love Synonym #2: Right for Us" will contain eight songs in total, including the title track "Lose" that is sang both in an original Korean version and English rendition.

The album also has a track that is familiar to Wenee (Wonho's fan club), titled "Flash." This single was first performed in Wonho's first online concert that took place in September last year. It showcases not only the singer's impressive vocals but also his rapping skills.

Moreover, it can be seen in the photo that the "Losing You" singer is credited for writing the lyrics of a few of the tracks in the album, including "Lose," "Best Shot," "WENEED," "Flash," and "Outro: And." On top of that, the album will consist of a collaboration with none other than the American singer-songwriter Kiiara on a song titled "Ain't About You."

Kiara Saulters, commonly known as Kiiara, is a current artist under Atlantic Records. She is best recognized for her debut song "Gold," which quickly entered the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 13 upon its release in 2015. The track was selected as the background music of a 15-second Apple Watch commercial titled "Style." In addition, its music video immediately gained fame, hitting five million views during mid-May 2016.

Kiiara is also known for collaborating with Linkin Park in 2017 in the rock band's seventh studio album, particularly in the song "Heavy." Other than that, her debut studio album "Lil Kiiwi," which came out in October 2020, is the most-streamed female album launched in 2020 on Spotify and 52nd overall.

Meanwhile, Wonho's new mini-album "Love Synonym #2: Right for Us" is the second half of his first mini-album "Love Synonym," with the first part being titled "Love Synonym Pt. 1: Right for Me." "Love Synonym" is his first album as a solo artist following his departure from MONSTA X and Starship Entertainment in 2019 and joining Highline Entertainment last year.

The first half of the mini-album includes the title track "Open Mind" which is an electronic pop track with lyrics written by Wonho and Isran. The song peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard US World Digital Songs and No. 15 on Gaon Download Charts. Moreover, the album contains the pre-release English-language single "Losing You," which received praise for showcasing Wonho's versatile musicality.
