TXT Yeonjun & NCT Yangyang to Make Their Runway Debut at New York Fashion Week

This week is one of the much-anticipated times on the fashion calendar as this is when the New York Fashion Week takes place. It also marks a special date for TXT and NCT as one of their members is about to make their runway debut.

New York Fashion Week (NYFW) is among the most prestigious and exclusive fashion events and runway shows that take place once every six months. In the past, Korean celebrities such as BLACKPINK, NCT Lucas, Eric Nam, and more have all been in the audience of some of NYFW's biggest events.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and New York being partially locked down, this year's New York Fashion Week will be a little different. Runways will be done online and the South Korean government will be taking part. The Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has teamed up with the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) to create "Concept Korea F/W 2021," in which they will be giving support to South Korean fashion designs affected by the pandemic.

And part of "Concept Korea F/W 2021" is that fans get to see two boy group members make their runway debut at New York Fashion Week: TXT Yeonjun and NCT Yangyang. Together with R&B singer BIBI, TXT Yeonjun will be sporting the clothes of ul:kin by Lee Sung Dong. Ul:kin is one of the most highly-anticipated clothing brands every fashion week. It is known for its innovative fashion expression and multi-layered pairing of various types of clothing.

According to a press release, the TXT member was selected to model at NYFW for his "tall height and outstanding body proportions." Meanwhile, NCT Yangyang will be modeling for JARRET by Lee Ji Yeon. JARRET's latest collection consists of advanced athleisure with high-tech construction for style and comfort. The clothing brand is yet to issue stills of the male idol.

Besides ul:kin and JARRET, WINDERKAMMER will also be participating in this year's New York Fashion Week for the "Concept Korea F/W 2021." The brand will present a cinematic runway video with Korea's top production company, MassMessAge. The "Concept Korea F/W 2021" will be broadcast on Feb. 16 at 8:30 p.m. EST or Feb. 17 at 10:30 a.m. KST via the official website of NYFW.

TXT and NCT Drop Japanese Releases

In other news, both TXT and NCT recently launched their Japanese releases. On Jan. 20, TXT dropped their debut Japanese studio album titled "Still Dreaming." It included the original Japanese track "Force," which serves as the opening theme for the second season of an anime series titled "World Trigger." The album peaked at No. 1 on the Oricon Albums Chart and was quickly certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of Japan.

On Feb. 17, NCT 127, in which Yangyang is one of the members, released its second Japanese extended play, "Loveholic," after roughly two years, following "Awaken" which came out in 2019. The EP contains six songs including the lead single "Gimme Gimme." The music video for "Gimme Gimme" reached more than five million views just a few hours after it was uploaded.
