JBJ95's Agency Charged with Fraud and Negligence after Failing to Pay Production Costs

On Feb. 16, it was reported that an event production agency "A" has filed a criminal lawsuit against JBJ95's company, Star Road Entertainment, for negligence and fraud. According to the complainant, the South Korean company failed to pay around 70 million KRW (approximately 64,000 USD) in production costs for the organization of JBJ95's online Japanese fan meetings, which took place on Dec. 20 and Dec. 27 last year.

Plus, the label did not contact company "A," and so the payment was still not received even after the deadline, which is on Jan. 31.

An official from the event production agency stated that it is common to pay some amount in advance andgive the remaining balance before JBJ95's fan meetings concluded.

However, the CEO of Star Road Entertainment said that that they are having difficulty when it comes to funds and promised to pay the production costs through sales of tickets and goods.

JBJ95's Company Responds to the Lawsuit and Accusation

In response to the lawsuit, a representative from Star Road Entertainment stated, "It is true that the agency has been sued by company 'A' for failure to pay production costs. We were unable to earn enough revenues from the fan meetings, and we are struggling financially due to COVID-19. However, the accusation that the label's CEO took the income from this event for personal use is false."

The entertainment company concluded its official statement by saying that they will attempt to pay back the event production agency what they owe.
