CL, also known as Lee Chaerin, a solo artist and an ex-member of the iconic girl group 2NE1, expressed a touching longing post for her mother after 3 weeks of inactivity in her newest Instagram update.
On Feb. 17, singer CL said on her personal SNS, "Thanks to the warm comfort and heart of many people, I was able to say hello to my mother without being lonely.”
CL’s Mother Passed Away Due to Heart Attack
On Feb. 10, CL reported through its agency that her mother passed away. CL's mother, the late Hong Yoo Ra, worked as a potter and drew attention for nurturing CL with a free and responsible education method along with her extraordinary artistic sensibility.
The sudden sad news left not only the members but also the fans deeply shocked and saddened. Team Very Cherry, which is known to be CL’s agency, released an official statement stating, “CL’s mother, Hong Yoo Ra, who was living abroad at the time, passed away because of heart attack at age 53 on the third week of January."
The agency continued that the funeral took place on February 10 for three days and the burial took place on February 12. Due to the COVID-19 situation, the funeral was held privately with only family and close friends in attendance.

Former 2NE1 Co-member Sandara Park Left A Comforting Message Under CL’s New Instagram Post
Fans are relieved to see CL once again update about her life as she comes back on Instagram with a message made especially for her longing mother. On CL’s recent Instagram post with her mother, the caption said:
“Thanks to all the warm comfort and heart of people around me, which made me able to greet my mother without the feeling of being lonely. Thank you. Mom, I will continue to work hard so that I can live as a brave, warm, and deep-hearted person like you. Please watch over me and Ha Rin (her younger sister) comfortably. I miss you a lot today.
Thank you for giving me light, during one of the most difficult times of my life, with all of your kind words and the outpour of love. My mother, the most brave, selfless, and giving person I know, will continue to live on through me with everything she has taught me.”
With this post, CL, who took out a picture of memories with her mother, who was with her during her lifetime, even made the viewers feel sad. Sandara Park, her former co-member of 2NE1, drew attention by leaving a comforting note under her post with the words
"Chaerin, we will always stay next to you ^^ Let's cheer up."
