GOT7 Yugyeom was recently revealed to be the new artist of AOMG. But out of all the companies, why did the male idol choose this Hip Hop label? In a recent interview with Elle magazine, the artist revealed the reason he signed witsh Jay Park's agency.
GOT7 Yugyeom Officially Signs with AOMG, Reveals the Reason for Joining This Label
On Feb. 19, AOMG announced that GOT7's main dancer has signed an exclusive contract with them. Jay Park's agency even shared Yugyeom's "dance visual" video to "FRANCHISE" by Travis Scott featuring Young Thug and M.I.A. The "Last Piece" singer now joins the hip hop label's roster of amazing artists including Jay Park, Lee Hi, LOCO, Simon Dominic, Code Kunst, Cha Cha Malone, ELO, and many more.

Later that day, GOT7 Yugyeom participated in a pictorial for Elle magazine's upcoming issue. This is his first official activity as an AOMG artist. The singer showed off dazzling visuals in each cut. The K-pop idol also took the time to answer several questions, including the reason why he decided to join Jay Park's agency.
According to the "If You Do" singer, he signed with AOMG because "the musical direction coincided." Kim Yugyeom also confessed he felt anxious about joining the Hip Hop label because this was the first time AOMG hired an active idol in the industry.

GOT7 Yugyeom went on to share that he wants to grow into an "all-rounder" and that he is excited to work with the other artists under his new management company, as well as performs well both in performance and music. He then brought up the topic of the time GOT7 decided to leave JYP Entertainment. He unveiled that the members all agreed not to renew their contract with the agency and find new challenges.

GOT7's youngest member also emphasized that even though the members have already separated ways, it is not the end of the boy group.
"I think it is ultimately the team's chance to achieve each other's dreams," he added.
Kim Yugyeom continued that he always believes he can do his best, and revealed that the one thing that scares him is when stopping to reach his dream.
"I want to exist as a person who develops and grows in the future," he concluded.
GOT7 Yugyeom's Previous Solo Tracks
During his seven-year contract with JYP Entertainment, Kim Yugyeom shared mixtapes while his group issued albums. His first mixtape was launched in January 2018, titled "Dandelion," and consists of songs he released on SoundCloud in 2017.

Last year, he dropped two mixtapes, with one of those being untitled and containing three tracks. The other one is titled "Happiness and Gratitude," which is made up of only two songs. GOT7's main dancer also issued two singles, titled "Just a Little More" and "YOU" in 2019, both of which are available on SoundCloud.
