On Sunday, Feb. 21, the Korean Brand Research Institute released their individual idol brand reputation rankings for Feb. 2021. Keep on reading to see who made it to the top rankings.
The Korean Brand Research Insititute analyzed 285,034,563 pieces of big data concerning 1,453 individual idols from Jan. 21 to Feb. 21. The Korean Brand Research Institute determines an idol's participation index, media index, communication index, and community index with the data analyzed. Compared to the 259,838,412 big data available on Jan. 21, the big data increased by 9.70%.
The brand reputation index helps determine the consumers' online habits and the positive and negative impact an idol has on a brand. It also measures their media volume, communication volume, and public interest.
BTS Jimin is the Most Popular Idol for Feb. 2021
BTS's Jimin snags first place with a brand reputation index of 10,940,994. The BTS member has a participation index of 741,913, a media index of 1,277,377, a communication index of 4,709,992, and a community index of 4,211,712. Compared to Jimin's brand reputation index of 8,016,940 in Jan., it rose by 36.47%.
Kang Daniel Ranks Second
Second place went to Kang Daniel with a brand reputation index of 10,679,813. The former Wanna One member and active soloist have a participation index of 2,499,004, a media index of 2,357,331, a communication index of 2,826,289, and a community index of 2,997,188. Compared to Kang Daniel's brand reputation index of 5,552,572 in Jan., it rose by 92.34%.
Cha Eun Woo Takes Home the Third Place
ASTRO's Cha Eun Woo ranked in third place with a brand reputation index of 9,987,639. The ASTRO member and actor has a participation index of 2,580,319, a media index of 2,915,933, a communication index of 2,314,901, and a community index of 2,176,486. Compared to Cha Eun Woo's brand reputation index of 5,420,184 in Jan., it rose by 84.27%.
Fourth Place Goes to BLACKPINK's Jennie
BLACKPINK's Jennie is the first female idol on the list, with a brand reputation index of 7,950,412. The "SOLO" singer has a participation index of 670,607, a media index of 1,158,089, a communication index of 3,088,770, and a community index of 3,032,945. Compared to Jennie's brand reputation index of 7,782,727 in Jan., it rose by 2.15%.
BTS's V Sits at Fifth Place
Fifth place went to BTS member V with a brand reputation index of 7,470,102. V has a participation index of 507,353, a media index of 1,371,814, a communication index of 2,385,242, and a community index of 3,205,693. Compared to V's brand reputation index of 7,055,289 in Jan., it rose by 5.88%.
