Digimon World Re:Digitize Decode 3DS Game Gets June 27 Release Date, No English Release Date…Yet

With the popular Digimon franchise ready to release its first Nintendo 3DS video game, Digimon World Re:Digitize Decode, on June 27 in Japan, North American fans eagerly wait for any hint of an international English release.

Re:Digitize Decode, a 3DS port of the 2012 Playstation Portable game Digimon World Re:Digitize, seems reminiscent of the Monster Rancher series in raising Digimon through breeding and training, and not strictly battling opponents.

In addition, a second cut scene trailer "special movie" was released yesterday, featuring in-game anime cut scenes while introducing the game's major characters: The Hero, Nikorai Petorofu, Akiho Rindou, Yuuya Kuga, Mirei Mikagura, and Lili.

In addition to exploring the Digimon world while progressing the storyline, the 3DS game also has the function "Digitter," reports AnimeNewsNetwork.

A parody of Twitter, Digitter allows players to read posts from other Digimon and characters.

Sadly, North American fans will have to wait to see if Re:Digitze Decode will get a non-Japan release.

According to Polygon, a Namco Bandai representative stated they have "not made any announcement of a planned [English] release in the U.S."

"Stay tuned for future product announcement."

Seems like there is hope yet for Digimon fans around the world!
