DAY6 Reportedly Preparing for a Comeback + JYP Entertainment Confirms
According to an exclusive report from Newsen, the Korean rock band is currently working on a new album, with the goal of making their return to the K-pop scene in April. The upcoming album will mark DAY6's first comeback as a full group since the launch of their sixth extended play "The Book of Us: The Demon," in which both Jae and Sungjin last participated in.

Following the EP's release, DAY6 debuted in a subunit called "Even of Day," which is made up of members Young K, Wonpil, and Dowoon. Jae and Sungjin, on the other hand, took the time to focus on their mental health.
In response to the report, JYP Entertainment commented that the Korean rock band will, indeed, be having a comeback with a new album. "DAY6 is preparing their new album, and we will let you know more details soon," the label stated.
DAY6's Last Comeback as a Full Group
The last time that DAY6 had a comeback as a full group is on May 11, 2020, which is approximately a year assuming that the five-member boy band would release its new album in April. Ahead of the official release of "The Book of Us: The Demon" last May, JYP Entertainment announced that the quintet will be suspending its team activities and promotions as some of the members, Jae and Sungjin, showed symptoms of psychological anxiety.

Although DAY6 was on hiatus, the album was released as scheduled. The lead single "Zombie" debuted at No. 8 on MelOn's real-time chart an hour after it was launched, and rocketed to No. 4 the following day. The song also rose to the top of Bugs after debuting at No. 2. In addition, all seven B-side tracks of DAY6's "The Book of Us: The Demon" have been ranking in the top 100 on MelON, Genie, and Bugs since the album's release.
Debut and Recent Song of DAY6's First Subunit, Even of Day
After three months of hiatus, DAY6 members Dowoon, Young K, and Wonpil debuted as the band's first subunit, while Jae and Sungjin continue to recover from their anxiety. In August 2020 with an extended play titled "The Book of Us: Gluon - Nothing can tear us apart" under the unit-name "Even of Day."

The EP consists of seven singles co-written by Wonpil and Young K, including the title track "Where the Sea Sleeps." The title track expresses a person's desire that someone can join them in their boat of life, float on top of the sea that is the world, and be with them until the end, where the sea sleeps. "Where the Sea Sleeps" comes with a music video that features the three members' animated characters Pil, Ke, and Don.
On Jan. 15 this year, Even of Day dropped a special song titled "So This is Love" for the web music show "Secret: Atelier." After nine days, DAY6's first subunit held its first online concert.
