Peripera Removes All Images Featuring (G)I-DLE Soojin on Instagram

Originally, Peripera was meant to reveal their new model on Mar 1, 2021. However, fans quickly found out that it was (G)I-DLE's Soojin after promotional images of the idol were seen in cosmetic stores. While people were initially ecstatic about the new model, their tones quickly changed once Soojin was accused of being a bully.

Following the allegations, Peripera released a short statement to Sports Khan, stating they were working on resolving the issue regarding their new model. By the time the clock hit midnight on Mar. 1, 2021, Peripera had removed all traces of Soojin from their Instagram and Twitter, despite CUBE Entertainment and Soojin herself denying the bullying rumors.

Periperia has yet to announce if the contract between them and Soojin will be terminated or if a new face will replace Soojin. It is known that most brands include a "morals clause" in their contract, stating that the agency will pay a penalty of 200-300% if a contract is terminated due to a model's controversy.

CLIO Removes Posts Featuring Stray Kids from Social Media

Back in Feb. 2021, CLIO announced the Stray Kids were selected as the cosmetic brand's new models. The social media accounts of CLIO were filled with photos of Stray Kids. However, following the bullying allegations made against Hyunjin, CLIO has removed all traces of the boy group from their social media.

The brand released a lengthy statement to their Instagram, explaining their decision to remove Stray Kids from their social media accounts. Their statement reads,

"To CLIO's loving customers,

First of all, we would like to apologize for taking too long to respond to the controversy regarding the Stray Kids member model.

Following the controversy, we at CLIO have stopped all promotions featuring the model in question. The model's agency reached out to us and explain that the investigation process may take a while. That being said, we requested for all our distributors in Korea and globally to stop featuring any contents that have the model.

However, some of our global distributors have sent out the model's promotional content to individual sellers. Though we have requested that these be removed, the distributors are working with what they have, and so some sellers will be pushing through with promotions as scheduled. We are waiting for updates on how these global distributors will work around the promotional material.

We apologize if, in the process, we caused any person any form of inconvenience. CLIO is currently reviewing the model's contract. We are thoroughly discussing the situation at hand so that we will form an educated decision on the matter. When we reach an agreement, we will be updating you if there will be any changes to future promotions.

All promotional material modeled by Stray Kids up to the controversy has been removed, except with some distributors mentioned prior. CLIO will continue to work for the brand's loving customers to provide the best service possible.

Thank you."
