Long-lived K-pop group SHINee earned its first win for "Don't Call Me" on "Show Champion," three years after their military hiatus.
On March 3, MBC M "Show Champion" aired in the afternoon announced SHINee's "Don't Call Me" as this week's first place.
SHINee Snags its First Win for "Don't Call Me" on "Show Champion"
In the music show, SHINee's "Don't Call Me" ruled over the other strong nominees, including Kang Daniel's "PARANOIA," Sunmi's "TAIL," ONF's "Beautiful Beautiful" and Chungha's "Bicycle."
"Don't Call Me" is a hip-hop dance song with lyrics focusing on the main character who is betrayed by his lover, warning not to call them again. The strong vocals of the quartet, Onew, Key, Minho, and Taemin added to the impact of the song, along with their powerful dance choreography.
On the other hand, Lee Seunghyub Wonho, ONF, Golden Child, CIX, Wei, Keembo, TRI.BE, Ahn Sung Joon, Lee Ri, KINGDOM, SUAN, and PIXY attended the show as well, showing incredible performances that highlighted their skills and potentials.
In particular, ONF made a comeback with the title song "Beautiful Beautiful," captivating K-pop enthusiasts with their refreshing vocals and spectacular performances.
Wonho also made a comeback with his first mini-album PART.2 "Love Synonym #2: Right for Us," while N.Flying's leader Lee Seunghyub showed his true value as a singer-songwriter with "ON THE TRACK."
WEI is back with their second mini-album, "IDENTITY: Challenge," as for Golden Child, the group wrapped up their fifth mini-album "YES" with their follow-up song "Breathe."

SHINee Successful Comeback in Three Years
SHINee, after taking a military break in 2018 finally returned to the music scene with their seventh full-album, "Don't Call Me."
Upon its release, it immediately rose to No. 1 in iTunes for 47 countries. It's been more than a week since they kicked off with the album, but their track is still consistently charting in local and international music charts, including Bugs, Flo, Genie, and Spotify.
Earlier, they set new records after topping Oricon's "Digital Album" Chart and Billboard Japan's "Download Album" Chart. On top of that, "Don't Call Me" MV became SHINee's fastest MV to reach 27 million views in nine days, too.

In fact, according to the "K-pop Radar" analysis, about 35 million YouTube views about SHINee have occurred around the world over the past week. Among them, South Korea recorded the highest share with 12.5%, followed by India with 11.3%, Japan with 7%, Indonesia with 6.6%, and the United States with 6.2%.
In response, the data-observing platform said, "SHINee is an idol group with steady global popularity even after 14 years since its debut. They had fired a spectacular return bullet to the extent that the long gap is overshadowed."
Aside from topping the charts, SHINee also proved their "trendsetter" modifier, after drawing attention from K-pop fans with their comical "ending fairy" scenes, that even captured the attention of their co-second-gen K-pop idol, 2PM's Taecyeon.
