iKON has officially dropped a new song titled "Why Why Why" for their long-awaited comeback. And the brand-new single is making a splash on the iTunes charts worldwide.
iKON Returns with New Digital Single "Why Why Why"
March 3 marked the official comeback of YG Entertainment's boy group after more than a year. This day, the song "Why Why Why" was released on various music sites, together with its music video. iKON Bobby is credited for composing and writing the lyrics of the track, alongside LP, Sonny, CHOICE37, and LIL G.
iKON's new song "Why Why Why" expresses the sadness and regret felt after ending a relationship with someone. The music video for this single has the highest number of views on YouTube for a K-pop act in the last 24 hours since it was released on March 3 at 6:00 p.m. KST. It exceeded one million views in just four hours and hit 2.4 million views in the last 24 hours.
As of press time, the MV for the group's new release has reached 2.9 million views. Also, it remains one of the trending music videos on YouTube, placing fifth.
iKON Tops iTunes Charts Worldwide with New Song "Why Why Why"
Thanks to the great support of iKONICs (iKON's fan club), "Why Why Why" climbed up the iTunes Top Songs charts in at least 10 different countries, such as Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Qatar, Peru, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
iKON's comeback song has also become a new entry to the Worldwide iTunes Song chart, taking the No. 5 position. It is one of the two new entries in the top 10 of the chart, with the other one being a K-pop song as well - Rain's "Magnetic" with GOT7 Jackson at No. 8.
On top of that, YG Entertainment's boy band made it to the Global Digital Artist Rankings. And out of 200 artists, iKON comes in at No. 67.
"Why Why Why" by iKON Enters Several Korean Music Charts and Platforms
Not only is the group's new single topping the iTunes charts all over the world, but it has also debuted on Korea's real-time music charts as soon as it was launched. It entered Korean music charts such as Bugs and Genie simultaneously, ranking No. 5 on both charts. iKON's comeback song then peaked at No. 2 on Bugs and No. 4 on Genie. It also successfully charted on MelOn's 24hits, claiming the No. 32 spot.

As of March 4 at 1:00 p.m. KST, the single is doing well on Korea's real-time charts: No. 6 on Bugs and No. 35 on Genie. On the daily charts, it is placed fourth on Bugs, nineteenth on Genie, and 95th on MelOn. Plus, it is No. 7 on MelOn's 24hits and No. 18 on MelOn's Male Group chart, becoming their highest peak this week on the said list.
Furthermore, the music video for iKON's "Why Why Why" has surpassed 100,000 views on Naver TV. The group will have a comeback stage on M Countdown later today at 6:00 p.m. KST.
