K-pop solo artist Park Ji Hoon is back with a new single in collaboration with R&B artist Lee Hi, and the track has seen its way up on both domestic and international music charts.
Park Ji Hoon Returns with Collaboration Song "Call U Up" featuring Lee Hi
Park Ji Hoon becomes the third Korean act to collaborate with UNIVERSE, the latest global fandom platform, to release a new song. Titled "Call U Up," the track features the lovely female R&B soloist Lee Hi. The first two singles that were launched through the app are IZ*ONE's "D-D-DANCE" in January and Rain and Jo Sumi's "Guardian" in February.

Produced by hitmaker Primary, "Call U Up" was dropped on March 4. Park Ji Hoon's new song is described as a medium tempo pop-genre single based on synthpop. Its lyrics express the feeling of falling in love for the first time. Through the male idol's warm voice, plus Lee Hi's angelic voice, listeners get to understand the message of the track.

Park Ji Hoon Takes High Spots on Domestic and International Music Charts with New Song "Call U Up"
Not long after the collaboration song was released, it quickly scored high spots on domestic music charts. In particular, "Call U Up" by Park Ji Hoon has successfully ranked on Korea's major real-time charts such as Genie and Bugs. It took the No. 3 position on Genie, while it was at No. 13 on Bugs.

The new release has also successfully entered iTunes charts in various countries. It placed second in Vietnam, fourth in the Philippines, seventh in Malaysia, eighth in Indonesia, for the Top Songs chart. It also debuted at No. 47 on the worldwide iTunes Song chart.
Park Ji Hoon's Previous Release and Upcoming Drama
Meanwhile, Park Ji Hoon's new song "Call U Up" featuring Lee Hi is his first release after more than three months since his first studio album, "Message" on Nov. 4, 2020. This album contains the title track "Gotcha," in which the male solo artist showed his more charismatic and rebellious side.
Additionally, "Message" conveys the excitement a person feels when they first fall in love with someone. Meanwhile, "Gotcha" delivers that one is confident enough to steal the other person's heart.
In other news, Park Ji Hoon has been confirmed to star in a new drama that is based on a hit webtoon titled "Seen from a Distance, Green Spring." The drama will tell the story of college students experiencing difficulties as they face a tough world full of obstacles.
The "Call U Up" singer will play the role of Yeo Joon, a freshman college student who grew up in a rich family and holds a secret no one thought he'll have. Park previously starred in "Love Revolution" and "Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency."
