EXO Baekhyun to Release 3rd Mini-Album 'Bambi' on March 30

EXO's Baekhyun to Return as a Soloist With New Mini-Album

On Wednesday, Mar. 10, SM Entertainment announced that Baekhyun will be making his much-awaited comeback. The EXO and SuperM member will be returning with his third mini-album, "Bambi," on Mar. 30, at 6:00 p.m. KST.

"Bambi" will contain a total of six songs.

Prior to SM Entertainment's official announcement, the Herald Pop released a report on Mar. 4, claiming that Baekhyun was working last minute to make his solo comeback by the end of the month.

The Success of Baekhyun's First Two Mini-Albums

Baekhyun debuted as a soloist in Jul. 2019, making him the third member of EXO to do so. He dropped his debut mini-album "City Lights," which went on to sell over 550,000 copies in that year alone. At the time, it broke the record for the best-selling album by a solo act in the history of the Gaon Music Chart.

"City Lights" debuted at number one on the Gaon Weekly and Monthly Chart and ranked at number six on the year-end chart. The mini-album became the best-selling solo album of the 2010s in South Korea.

In Dec. 2019, Baekhyun snagged the award for Best Male Artist at the 2019 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMAs).

In May 2020, Baekhyun dropped his second mini-album, "Delight," with the title track "Candy."

"Delight" garnered over 732,000 pre-orders, making "Candy" the most pre-ordered album by a soloist in South Korean music history. In two months' time, "Delight" sold more than 1,000,000 copies, making it the first album by a South Korean soloist to do so since 2001.

On Dec. 6, 2020, Baekhyun won the Best Male Artist Award at the 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMAs) for the second year in a row.

EXO Baekhyun's Recent Activities

On Jan. 3, 2021, Baekhyun held his first solo concert, "Baekhyun: Light." The concert was broadcast digitally through Beyond Live due to South Korea's tightened and enhanced COVID-19 regulations brought about by the pandemic. The concert drew over 110,000 attendees from 120 countries.

On Jan. 4, Baekhyun dropped the single "Get You Alone," the title track from his self-titled Japanese extended play. The music video was previously revealed to fans at his online concert the day before.

"Baekhyun" was released on Jan. 21 as the male idol's solo debut in Japan and features six tracks: "Get You Alone," "Addicted," "Whippin'," "Drown," "Disappeared," and "Stars."

The extended play, "Baekhyun," was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of Japan.
