BTS, SEVENTEEN, Stray Kids, and TXT Win at the 2021 Japan Gold Disc Awards

The winners for the 2021 Japan Gold Disc Awards have been announced, and multiple K-pop groups successfully took home awards - and these groups are none other than BTS, SEVENTEEN, Stray Kids, and TXT. Keep on reading to know what prizes they earned.

BTS, SEVENTEEN, Stray Kids, and TXT Bag Prizes at the 2021 Japan Gold Disc Awards

On March 15, the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) revealed that artists who won at the 35th Japan Gold Disc Awards, and among them are the biggest acts in the K-pop scene: BTS, SEVENTEEN, TXT, and Stray Kids.

BTS impressively bagged a total of eight awards at this year's awards ceremony! The Big Hit boy group managed to attain the "Best Asian Artist" award for the third year in a row. The septet also earned the "Best Album of the Year" (Asia) award for their Japanese album "Map of the Soul: 7 ~The Journey~ and the "Best Music Video of the Year" (Asia) award.

BTS's "Dynamite" also achieved three awards at the 2021 Japan Gold Disc Awards. The hit song won the "Best Song of the Year by Download" (Asia) and "Best Song of the Year by Streaming" (Asia). It is also one of the five tracks to be recognized as the "Best 5 Songs by Streaming."

Moreover, BTS snagged two of the "Best 3 Albums" (Asia) awards for their "Map of the Soul: 7" and "Map of the Soul: 7 ~The Journey~." The other "Best 3 Albums" award went to SEVENTEEN's "24H."

TXT, who made their Japanese debut in 2020, bagged two prizes this year. In addition to winning "Best New Artist of the Year" (Asia), TXT also claimed one of this year's "Best 3 New Artists" awards together with Stray Kids, who also debuted in Japan last year.

Acceptance Speeches by BTS, SEVENTEEN, TXT, and Stray Kids at the 2021 Japan Gold Disc Awards

In their acceptance speech for the "Best Asian Artist" award, BTS commented, "We have won the "Best Asian Artist" award for the third consecutive year. Thank you ARMY for always giving us a lot of love and support. We would also like to express our gratitude to Bang Si Hyuk PD and the Big Hit staff who have always been working hard to help us release good music and show great performances."

SEVENTEEN commented, "We are much honored to receive this very prestigious award. We are very grateful to all of those who love SEVENTEEN's music. Thank you very much! This album "24H" was made with the message, "SEVENTEEN is always with CARAT (SEVENTEEN's fan club)." We will continue to do our best to become the group that can impress everyone with better music."

In their acceptance speech for the "New Artist of the Year" (Asia), TXT stated, "It is a great honor to win the "New Artist of the Year" award, which can only be received once in a lifetime. Thank you for supporting us in Japan. We're sorry that we can't meet you now because of the ongoing pandemic, but we'll do our best in the future while waiting for the day we can meet again, so please look forward to it. Thank you!"

Stray Kids also commented on winning at the 2021 Japan Disc Awards. The JYP Entertainment boy group said, "Hello everyone. This is Stray Kids! We are truly honored to receive the "Best 3 New Artists" award. Thank you. It's been a year since we made our debut in Japan, and we will do our best to deliver the best music in 2021. And STAY (Stray Kids' fan club), let's continue to walk together! I love you!"
