BTS Jimin Proves His Global Popularity in Japan Recently

ARMYs were given another reason to celebrate after Jimin dominated the list of the most popular K-pop idols in Japan. In the recent Nehan ranking, the "Life Goes On" singer got a total of 30,453 votes from March 8 to March 14, which proves his massive popularity among Japanese K-pop fans.

Coming close in second place is BTS member V, who got a total of 30,332 votes. Another co-member of Jimin, Jin, secured the third spot after he garnered a total of 26,890 votes. NCT 127 member Yuta, ENHYPEN's Ni-Ki and Ren Kawashiri wrapped up the Top 6 list.

For starters, Nehan is a famous Japanese website that releases weekly popularity rankings of K-pop idols. Luckily for ARMYs, this is not the first time that BTS member Jimin nabbed the top spot on the said tally.

BTS member Jimin, aside from dominating the list of the most popular male K-pop artists in Japan, also broke another record after his self-produced track titled "FRIENDS" was listed at No. 23 in On Line Music's K-Pop Top 100 of 2020. His solo song called "Filter" also made it to No. 59, which is said to be the highest placement among other BTS solo songs.

If that is not enough, BTS member Jimin also topped in Twipple's Japanese celebrity ranking after he started using Weverse on March 9. The "Dynamite" hitmaker is, currently, using the app to communicate and interact with his avid followers.

Most, if not all, fans can recall that "Filter" by BTS member Jimin was pronounced as the highest solo song by a male group and, by far, the highest solo song of BTS on the MelOn Annual Chart. Furthermore, the said track was also the first song from the "Map of the Soul: 7" album to gain 100,000 likes on MelOn, which was achieved in just eight days since its official release.

For starters, "Filter" was released on Feb. 21, 2020. It was listed as the eighth track of BTS' fourth studio album and the group's first EP last year. The track has caught the hearts of many with its sensual and Latin vibe; not to mention the uplifting and angelic voice of Jimin. The "Boy with Luv" singer performed "Filter" during the online concert of BTS titled "Map of the Soul - ON:E."
