Jang Sung Kyu under Fire for Insensitivity Regarding IZ*ONE's Disbandment
Jang Sung Kyu is a host and television personality in South Korea. He is known for his YouTube series, "Workman." He also currently hosts a radio show called "Good Morning FM This is Jang Sung Kyu."
On the March 17 segment of his radio program, Jang Sung Kyu brought up a quiz question concerning the project girl group, IZ*ONE.

The radio host played a song by the female act, as well as a track by Daft Punk, a French electric duo that has officially split in February following the release of a video titled "Epilogue."
After playing the songs, Jang Sung Kyu asked the listeners, "What do Daft Punk and IZ*ONE have in common?" He then answered his own question by saying, "They have disbanded."
His statement angered many fans since IZ*ONE has not yet disbanded and the idea of the group's upcoming disbandment is still a fresh wound for WIZ*ONEs (IZ*ONE's fans). Some fans commented that Jang Sung Kyu crossed the line, and others even sent him a direct message via Instagram.
Radio Host Jang Sung Kyu Apologizes for Insensitive Remark about IZ*ONE's Disbandment
Upon receiving messages and learning about the matter, Jang Sung Kyu posted a few DMs he got, together with an apology, on his Instagram account in the afternoon of March 17. The radio host began his letter by saying, "First of all, I would like to sincerely apologize to IZ*ONE and WIZ*ONE for giving a question like that during my radio show earlier today."

He added, "I am truly ashamed of having to read that question without hesitation, thus failing to consider what the involved parties would feel. I am even more embarrassed that I only learned about the situation when I received DMs regarding the issue."
Jang Sung Kyu then pointed out that the problem was that he and the writers did not show any consideration towards the IZ*ONE members and their fans. He also criticized himself by saying he thought that he was someone who was sensitive and knew the basics, but it turns out that he is becoming an arrogant person who has forgotten where he came from.
The radio host also remarked that he will work hard to be a humble DJ with deep consideration.
"Once again, I am sorry," he concluded.
When will IZ*ONE disband?
Meanwhile, IZ*ONE is set to disband in April as scheduled, after two and a half years since they made their debut in October 2018. Consisting of 12 members, the project girl group was formed through Mnet's reality competition show "Produce 48."

Recently, IZ*ONE has successfully wrapped up their two-day online concert, "ONE, THE STORY. In the finale of the event, the girl group expressed their gratitude to the fans, and all members even cried after knowing that it was their last concert together.
