Taecyeon Shares 2PM Plans to Make a Comeback This Year

2PM Taecyeon recently took part in a pictorial for the April issue of the 1st Look magazine. Following the photoshoot, he answered several questions in an interview, including one that concerns 2PM's long-awaited comeback.

On March 18, 1st Look magazine shared a few photos featuring 2PM Taecyeon, which can be seen on their new content for the month of April. In the images, the celebrity showed a more mature appearance as he shows his sides as an actor and an idol.

In an interview conducted after the photoshoot, one of the things he was asked about was 2PM's comeback. Taecyeon shared that it is uncertain whether they will be able to return this year, but they are planning to.

He added that since it has already been five years since they released new music, the 2PM members are seriously talking about what they can show to the fans.

"So, please wait a little longer," he concluded.

On Jan. 14, JYP Entertainment announced that 2PM is planning to make a comeback with all six members after Junho's military discharge in March. At that time, the group remarked that they will greet the fans with good content and so they should look forward to a 2021 that is full of 2PM content.

About 2PM and Their Last Comeback

2PM is a South Korean boy group formed by JYP Entertainment. The band consists of six members, namely Nichkhun, Jun. K, Wooyoung, Taecyeon, Chansung, and Junho. Initially a seven-member group, former member Jaebeom left 2PM and the company in early 2010.

In August 2008, 2PM released a single album titled "Hottest Time of the Day," marking their debut in the K-pop industry. The band also debuted in Japan with the track "Take Off" in May 2011.

In September 2016, the sextet dropped their sixth studio album "Gentlemen's Game," which marked the group's last comeback.

Starting from 2017 to June 2019, the members started to enlist in the military one by one, resulting in the group's hiatus. As of writing, only five members are active: Taecyeon, Jun. K, Wooyoung, Chansung, and Nichkhun.

Junho is still serving in the military, but he is scheduled to be discharged on March 20. He is the last member to complete his military service.

Even though 2PM has not made a comeback as a full group since 2016 due to the members' military service, active members in the entertainment industry got busy with their solo activities. Also, their music managed to stay popular these days, particularly their 2015 hit "My House" that suddenly saw fame in 2020 five years after it was released. The music video for the song unexpectedly gained lots of views in January last year.

2PM Taecyeon's Last Release

Meanwhile, Taecyeon's last release is his first solo Japanese album titled "Taecyeon Special: Winter Hitori," which was released in January 2017. In the same year, he held his very first solo concert.
