Park Bom to Release New Single for Long-Awaited Solo Comeback

Park Bom is set to make her highly-anticipated solo comeback this March! This will be her first return to the K-pop scene after almost two years.

When is Park Bom's Solo Comeback?

On Monday, March 22, the solo artist's agency D-Nation Entertainment announced that Park Bom will be releasing a new song titled "Do Re Mi Fa Sol" on March 31. Park Bom previously shared a snippet of her new solo track on tvN's "On & Off" where she showcased her unchanging powerful vocals.

"Do Re Mi Fa Sol" will be the singer's first release in nearly two years since her last solo comeback in May 2019 with an extended play titled "re:Blue Rose." What makes her return more anticipating is that Park Bom will be showing off a healthier and slimmer body after losing 11kg earlier this year.

When she appeared on tvN's "On & Off," she revealed that apart from preparing for her solo comeback, the other reason why she moved to Ganghwa Island is she wants to focus on her diet. The former 2NE1 member also shared that she hopes to get rid of five more kilograms to keep her promise to the fans about wearing a crop top.

An official from the solo artist's management agency commented, "Park Bom made a lot of effort to record a good song, which the fans have been waiting for a long time." "Do Re Mi Fa Sol" is scheduled for release on March 31 at 6 p.m. KST.

Park Bom's Solo Debut and Previous Releases

After 2NE1's disbandment in 2016, Park Bom left YG Entertainment and signed an exclusive contract with D-Nation Entertainment in 2018. She made her solo debut in March 2019 with the release of her single album titled "Spring," which contains the lead single of the same name. The R&B song features former bandmate Sandara Park.

Park Bom's "Spring" ranked second on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart as the best-selling K-pop song and highest-ranking new entry of that week. In May of the same year, her debut single album was re-released as an extended play titled "re:Blue Rose." The EP includes the lead single "4:44" featuring MAMAMOO Wheein, which was produced by Brave Brothers who also worked on "Spring."

Then, in the last month of that year, Bom reunited with her former 2NE1 member Sandara Park for a single titled "First Snow." Following that, Park Bom took on a year-long hiatus.

On Dec. 21, 2020, she collaborated with Burmese singer-songwriter Sai Sai Kham Leng for the single "Red Light."
