"Iljin" in English is someone who bullies or harasses other students during their time in school. An "iljin" group is a group of students who harass their peers as a clique.

Previously, on Mar. 17, a user on an online community forum accused Soojin of being the "iljin" group leader. The bullying caused by this group of students allegedly got so bad that an informal violence committee was held.

The user claimed that those parts of Soojin's "iljin" group were paged to the teacher's office, and their names were broadcast loudly across the school, so people knew who the students were.

According to lawyer Jang Hyung Soo of Baekha Law Firm, it is almost impossible to punish school violence because it happened at a young age.

Suppose a famous celebrity is a perpetrator of school bullying. In that case, the person who accuses the celebrity can be a victim of secondary abuse by fans, often through threats and defamation.

CUBE Entertainment's way of handling Soojin's ongoing bullying controversy is said to be irrational. Though the company has a duty to protect and represent their artists, the thing that is considered to be the most important is consensus, and reconciliation between the parties is the most important, especially if the offense happened during their school years and cannot be legally tried in court.
