INFINITE Members Sungyeol and Dongwoo Leave Woollim Entertainment

Sungyeol and Dongwoo are the next INFINITE members to leave Woollim Entertainment, following Sunggyu. The two idols were with the agency for the past 11 years.

Woollim Entertainment Announces the Departure of INFINITE Members Sungyeol and Dongwoo

On March 31, Woollim Entertainment released an official statement announcing the departure of INFINITE members Dongwoo and Sungyeol from the agency. The company said that the exclusive contracts of the two idols with them have ended today (March 31) and that no renewals will be made.

Woollim Entertainment added that ahead of the expiration of Sungyeol and Dongwoo's exclusive contracts, they had a long discussion with the two INFINITE members and they reached an agreement of not proceeding with the renewal of the contracts.

"Jang Dongwoo and Lee Sungyeol have been active in a variety of areas as members of the boy band INFINITE since 2010. We would like to express our sincere thanks to the two people who have been with us for a long period of 11 years," Woollim said.

The entertainment agency went on to express their gratitude to the fans who have shown generous interest and support to the two INFINITE members. They also stated that they will continue to support the two idols in their new beginnings.

Woollim Entertainment also mentioned the departure of INFINITE's leader Sunggyu following the expiration of his contract with the company on March 6.

While he was not an artist under the label anymore after that day, he dropped his first single album "Won't Forget You" on March 29 as his last release under Woollim.

The agency also thanked INFINITE Sunggyu, who ended his exclusive contract with them after 11 years without any conflict.

INFINITE Sungyeol and Dongwoo's Time under Woollim Entertainment

Lee Sungyeol and Jang Dongwoo debuted as INFINITE members in June 2010 with the release of an extended play titled "First Invasion." Sungyeol is the vocalist and lead rapper of the boy group, while Dongwoo is the main rapper and main dancer.

The two are also part of the band's sub-units. Jang is the other half of the duo called "Infinite H" together with bandmate Hoya.

Infinite H, which is the first subgroup of INFINITE, made its debut in January 2013 with the mini-album "Fly High."

Following Hoya's departure from the group and agency in August 2017, the future of Infinite H was uncertain.

Meanwhile, Lee, along with L and Sungjong, is a member of the subgroup "Infinite F." The unit's first official release is a song titled "Crazy," which was included in INFINITE's second full album "Season 2." They also debuted in Japan with the single album "Koi No Sign" in November 2014.

INFINITE members Sungyeol and Dongwoo also carried out solo activities under Woollim Entertainment. Sungyeol turned from idol to actor, who was cast in the popular drama "Hi! School-Love On" alongside bandmate Woohyun.

Sungyeol started his military service in March 2019 and was discharged in October 2020.

As for Dongwoo, he made his musical debut in 2015 in the musical "In the Heights." The following year, he launched his self-produced song "Embedded in Mind." He joined the military in April 2019 and completed his service in November 2020.
