GOT7 Jay B Reportedly in Talks to Sign with Jay Park's H1GHR MUSIC + Company Responds

According to a Korean media outlet, GOT7 Jay B is discussing an exclusive contract with H1GHR MUSIC, which Jay Park established in 2017. The agency has since responded to the report.

H1GHR MUSIC is global hip-hop and R&B label Jay Park founded in 2017 with his long-term Seattle affiliate Cha Cha Malone. The company was established to serve as a bridge or connection between Korean and American artists, especially in Seattle.

GOT7 Jay B Reportedly Joining Jay Park's H1GHR MUSIC

On March 31, Korean media outlet Osen published an exclusive report that says GOT7 Jay B is currently talking over an exclusive contract with hip-hop and R&B label H1GHR MUSIC, which is founded by Jay Park.

After he left JYP Entertainment this past January, Jay B is said to have been receiving a lot of offers from numerous agencies. And at that time, GOT7's leader has not yet made up his mind about which company to sign with.

Following the news, Jay Park's H1GHR MUSIC released a brief statement to Korean media outlet Newsen. The agency said that there has been no final decision made regarding the exclusive contract with GOT7 Jay B.

While nothing has been decided yet, the company indirectly confirmed that they are having discussions with the male idol.

If Jay B would later join Jay Park's H1GHR MUSIC, he would be the fifth GOT7 member to join a new family since leaving JYPE, after Youngjae who joined Sublime Artist Agency, Jinyoung who joined BH Entertainment, BamBam who joined ABYSS Company, and Yugyeom who joined AOMG, which is also founded by Jay Park.

Meanwhile, GOT7 Jackson is still an artist under his self-established agency, TEAM WANG.

In January, he established a partnership with Youngjae's management company, Sublime Artist Agency, for his solo activities both in Korea and abroad.

On the other hand, GOT7 Mark shared that he received a few offers from other companies but he said during an Instagram live that he won't be joining any company as he wants to try to do things on his own at the moment.

GOT7 Jay B's Time under JYP Entertainment

Jay B, who previously had the stage name JB, made his first debut in the K-pop scene in 2012 as part of the duo JJ Project, along with Jinyoung who is also his fellow GOT7 member. After almost two years, JJ Project debuted as members of the boy group GOT7.

Jay B also had another sub-unit, named JUS2, with GOT7's youngest Yugyeom. The duo debuted with "Focus on Me" from their "Focus" EP in 2019.

Throughout GOT7's career under JYP Entertainment, Jay B has participated in composing and writing lyrics for the band's songs. He creates music under the name "Defsoul" or "Def." The songs "You Are," "Teenager," "Look," "Home Run," "Eclipse," and "Page" are just a few of the works GOT7 Jay B made.

Jay B has also released his own mixtapes since December 2016. The male idol even became a featuring artist in songs by numerous idols. He was featured in Baek A-yeon's "Just Because," Primary's "Hush," Deepshower's "Higher," and more.

He has also participated in singing OSTs for K-dramas, including "New Dreaming" for "Dream High 2," "Forever Love" for "Dream Knight," and others.
