Rumors said it all sparked when MONSTA X of Starship Entertainment rejected their appearance in MNET's "Kingdom."
Mnet denied rumors of a feud with Starship Entertainment. The alleged speculations of the "beef" between the two started when K-pop enthusiasts noticed that the K-pop girl group under the latter company had been removed from the lineup for the "M Countdown" music show.
Rumors and speculations then circulated in various social media platforms and communities, guessing if what could be the reason for the alleged feud, and some pointed out that it could be the disagreement started because boy group MONSTA X rejected their offer to appear in one of their reality music shows, "Kingdom."
Mnet Explained that WJSN Decided to Take a Rain Check First due to Show's Limited Running Time
On March 31, Mnet cleared why M Countdown excluded WJSN on the official lineup for the show.
"M Countdown running time has decreased starting this week. While talking with WJSN about how to perform in the music program, the female group asked to perform two songs, but the production team failed to reflect the request due to limited running time. As a result, WJSN said they would not appear and said they would appear next time," implying the reason why they erased Starship Entertainment's group from the list.
They also affirmed, "This is not a disagreement with Starship Entertainment."

How did MNET x Starship Entertainment Rumors Start? Here are K-pop Fans' Proofs
In particular, "M Countdown" announced on its official SNS around 3 p.m. on March 30 that WJSN will appear in "M Countdown," which will air at 6 p.m. on April 1. However, they suddenly released a new trailer without the girl group in about six hours, raising questions.
WJSN was scheduled to make a comeback on the 31st and be active. But there's no preview video for the female group which started the protest of Ujung (WJSN fandom).
Multiple K-pop officials and insiders also revealed that though they want to resolve things between the companies, the misunderstandings caused disagreement due to twisted situations.
Mnet is reported "power tripping" over Starship Entertainment as well, after rejecting offers to appear in "Kingdom." Since then, it was noted that Jeong Se Woon and CRAVITY, artists of Starship, didn't appear in "M Countdown."
Aside from the reason for the failure of the previous singers to appear, the impact is huge in that the broadcaster under CJ ENM, a large company, has created an absurd case of adding and subtracting lineup.
However, it is also difficult for K-pop agencies to protest against the lineup against broadcasting stations. In particular, amid the recent flood of comeback lineups, the management has no choice but to be wary of even one schedule. It is for the reason that some music shows were being canceled to give way for other shows due to fierce security of timeslot.
