Chungbuk Soju Unsure on Renewing Contracts With Apink's Chorong
Chungbuk Soju is currently uncertain about a contract renewal with Apink's Chorong, who is currently active as the brand's model.
According to a report made by Sports Kyunghyang on April 6, the contract period of Apink's Chorong with Chungbuk Soju, a soju brand by Lotte in which Chorong is the brand model, will be expiring on April 14.
It is revealed that Chungbuk Soju is aware of the controversies surrounding the "Mr. Chu" singer and is struggling with the decision whether to renew the contract with Chorong or not.
Previously, there had been reports that the Apink member is under suspicion of drinking as a minor. According to an acquaintance, who was also present at the time, Chorong had been drinking in 2008 when she was a high school student. She visited bars every weekend and drank with friends.
The acquaintance had also released photos along with their claims, showing Chorong smiling at the camera while various types of liquor were spread out in front of her and her friends.
The liquor industry in South Korea has participated and carried out various social activities such as prevention of indiscriminate drinking, underage drinking and drunk driving, as well as campaigns for sound consumption in order to change some negative prejudices surrounding drinking alcohol.

In particular, Lotte Liquor continues to support such projects and puts the role of a responsible company in the forefront. With the controversy surrounding Chorong over underage drinking, it is expected to be a considerable blow if the company keeps the "I'm So Sick" singer as a brand model.
Additionally, Chorong has been the brand model for the soju brand since early 2020.
Play M Entertainment or Chorong has not yet given their statements or comments on the accusations.
Meanwhile, on April 5, the Apink member had been accused of assaulting an elementary school classmate who had accidentally encountered the singer in an alleyway. Play M Entertainment had reportedly sued the accuser for defamation and coercion.
In addition, the accuser had asked Chorong for an official apology and sued the singer as well.
