EXO Sehun's Birthday Ads Postponed During Elections

On April 8, just four days before EXO Sehun's birthday on April 12, it was revealed that the Seoul Metropolitan Government had postponed birthday advertisements for the "On Me" singer.

The fans, who worked hard to prepare for the idol's birthday ads, were disappointed with the news and postponement due to the election laws.

Sehun's birthday advertisements were originally set to be on April 2 until April 12, but due to the dates overlapping with the election for Seoul mayor, the advertisements were pushed back to a later date.

However, the main issue was that Sehun had the same name as Oh Sehoon, a politician who ran in the elections as a candidate for mayor of Seoul. Also, both have the same Hangul characters in their name, "오세훈" (Oh Sehoon).

In addition, the People Power party's political color is red, to which candidate Oh Sehoon is a part of. It was said that the color used in Sehun's birthday advertisement was also red.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government said that the advertisement had a high probability of being seen as an illegal election campaign.

EXO fans eventually changed the date of the advertisements from April 9 to April 18.
