Red Velvet's Wendy Couldn't Stop Laughing While Taking Photos for 'Like Water'
On Monday, Apr. 5, Red Velvet member Wendy held a V Live to countdown to her solo debut. During the live stream, Wendy shared a story behind one album cover photo to fans who were tuned in and watching.
For her album, Wendy was shot leaning back while wearing a red dress, with the green grass acting as her background. The photo was used as a teaser for her album.
As Wendy looked at the photo, the female idol could not help but burst into laughter. It took the idol a moment to compose herself — she was laughing for ages!
After calming herself, Wendy told fans, "The photos were not just shot like that. It was not that easy. I bought a photo to help me prove this."
Wendy then brought out a photo that showed a staff member holding on to Wendy's right arm as she leaned back as far as she could. With a laugh, Wendy said, "Is it not surprising how this photo turned out to be so gorgeous?"

Red Velvet Wendy Makes Solo Debut with "Like Water"
On Apr. 5, Wendy made her official debut as a soloist with her debut extended play, "Like Water." The extended play contains two title tracks: "When This Rain Stops" and "Like Water." Wendy is the first Red Velvet to debut as a soloist officially.

Upon the release of "Like Water," the extended play topped the iTunes Chart in 30 countries, making her the K-pop soloist with the most number one's on the said chart. She broke the record previously held by labelmate Taeyeon of Girls' Generation. Previously, Taeyeon's studio album, "Purpose," held the record by topping the iTunes Charts in 26 countries.

The extended play topped the worldwide iTunes albums chart. Wendy is the fifth Korean soloist to do so. By Apr. 6, "Like Water" sold 70,847 copies, making it the fifth-highest first-day sales figure on the Hanteo Chart for a K-pop soloist.
