BTS, BLACKPINK, & NCT Land on The Top 5 of This Week's Billboard World Albums Chart

Billboard has revealed that albums by BTS, BLACKPINK, and NCT entered the Top 5 of this week's World Albums Chart.

World Albums Chart ranks the top-selling albums launched by all artists across the globe. The Billboard magazine updates its rankings every week, showing which releases have the most sales in that week.

BTS Enters Three Albums in the Top 5 of the Latest Billboard World Albums Chart

On the World Albums Chart for the week ending on April 24, K-pop groups once again dominated the Top 5. In particular, BTS secured three spots with their new and old albums.

Reigning as No. 1 this week is the boy group's "Map of the Soul: 7," which was released in February last year. This marks the album's 60th week on the Billboard chart. Additionally, this week is the album's 25th week at No. 1.

BTS's "Map of the Soul" is the bestselling album of 2020 in not only South Korea but also in the United States, Japan, and worldwide. It impressively sold more than 4.02 million copies globally.

Coming in at No. 2 is another work of RM, Jungkook, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jin - their latest album "BE." It was No. 1 in last week's rankings, and it has now spent almost five months on the World Albums Chart. Moreover, a total of 3,106,946 copies of "BE" were sold on the Hanteo Chart.

The third album by BTS within the Top 5 of the Billboard chart is their 2018 album "Love Yourself: Tear." This release is the very first Korean album to rank No. 1 on the Billboard 200, as well as the highest-charting album by an Asian act.

BTS's "Love Yourself: Tear" was even included in multiple lists of best K-pop albums of 2018. On top of that, the album was recognized as the "Album of the Year" at several awards ceremonies in South Korea.

BLACKPINK and NCT Claim Spots in the Top 5 of This Week's Billboard World Albums Chart

BLACKPINK also made it to the latest rankings of the World Albums Chart. The girl group's first studio album "THE ALBUM" stayed strong at No. 3, spending its 28th week on the chart.

Other than that, "THE ALBUM" is the No. 9 bestselling female album of 2021, so far, in the United States. A total of 57,000 copies has been already sold. Meanwhile, the quarter is the No. 4 bestselling female artist in the first quarter of 2021 on Gaon with 154,344 physical albums.

Furthermore, BLACKPINK's "THE ALBUM" has already sold 1,627,000 total units, according to the United World Chart. Lastly, NCT's "RESONANCE Pt. 1" remained at No. 4 on this week's Billboard World Albums Chart. The album has already spent more than six months on the chart.

"RESONANCE Pt.1" is the boy band's first release to sell more than one million copies, earning the group the "million seller" title. It is the No. 4 bestselling album on Gaon Chart for 2020 with 1,289,594 copies sold. The album is, in fact, NCT's first chart-topper on Gaon.
