Paju City Hall Concludes BLACKPINK Jennie Did Not Violate Quarantine Rules
BLACKPINK's Jennie has recently been caught up in a controversy after being suspected of violating quarantine rules.
According to an official from the Paju City Hall on April 23, it was concluded that the "As If It's Your Last" singer's visit to the arboretum did not violate the quarantine rules.
It was previously revealed that YG Entertainment had submitted an application to the arboretum prior to filming and that the visit was work-related and not private.
As the suspicion around Jennie's quarantine violation has been concluded and cleared by the Paju City Hall, she is planning to resume her activities after it was put on pause amidst the controversy.

Although the controversy has been concluded, there is still a lot of debate on whether filming videos, such as for Youtube, falls under the exception of Korea's ban on public gatherings of more than five people.
The City of Seoul recently announced the implementation of a nationwide ban on gatherings with more than five people from April 12 to May 2 on its official website.
According to rules, Youtube does not fall under the category of private gatherings. Although Youtube is not broadcasting as stipulated by the Broadcasting Act, Newspaper Act, and News Communication Act, it is still stated that individual judgment is needed depending on the content.
If Youtube is a business that contributes to economic activity, then it does not violate the ban on the gathering of more than five people. However, if it is a private activity, such as a hobby, then it is considered a violation, and a fine of not more than 100,000 won (approximately $90) will be issued.
As the standards are ambiguous, the controversy only intesifies. Clear standards and principles are needed, netizens pointed out.
