The upcoming K-pop boy group will be called "NCT Hollywood" and will be the latest sub-unit of SM Entertainment's "concept" band NCT (Neo Culture Technology), which has no fixed number of members. The group currently comprises 23 members and four sub-units namely NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream, and WayV.

The K-pop audition program will be open to American males aged 13 to 25. NCT Sungchan Shares a New Sub-Unit Will Come out This 2021

Earlier this year, a few NCT members sat down for an interview with Star News to tackle their activities last year and what fans can expect this 2021.

Sungchan shared that a new NCT sub-unit will be produced. While SM Entertainment has announced their plans of forming NCT Hollywood, the company didn't specify whether the new sub-unit will make their debut this year.

NCT Hollywood would be the first sub-unit of NCT after more than two years since the formation of WayV back in December 2018, assuming that no other units will debut before the U.S.-based boy group.

NCT's upcoming sub-unit, NCT Hollywood, was first mentioned by the Korean company last year during a conference. SME's A&R Producer Chris Lee revealed that there are possibilities that new units will be formed, such as NCT Hollywood, NCT Thailand, NCT Japan, and NCT Africa.

At that time that NCT Sungchan mentioned the new sub-unit coming out this year. Fans speculated that it could be a Japanese group considering that members Sungchan and Shotaro have been studying Japanese.
