Red Velvet Joy to Release a Special Album for Her Solo Debut
On May 17, SM Entertainment issued a press release containing more details about the upcoming solo debut of Red Velvet Joy. The company stated that the "Psycho" singer will launch a special album titled "Hello," which will be a remake album.

Joy's "Hello" will be released on various music sites including iTunes and Apple Music on May 31 at 6 p.m. KST. Since it will be the first solo album by the Red Velvet member after almost seven years since her debut, it is expected that the release will receive hot reactions.
Moreover, Red Velvet Joy's special album will contain a total of six remakes that will show her own vocal style and color. The songs were originally released in the 1990s and 2000s. SM Entertainment is yet to reveal which six songs will be included in the remake album.
Red Velvet member Joy's "Hello" will be released as a physical album on June 3. Pre-orders for her solo debut album will start today, May 17, and will be available on various online and offline record stores.

Meanwhile, Red Velvet has updated the profile icon of all their social media accounts, signaling the start of the countdown for Joy's upcoming solo debut with her remake album "Hello."

Red Velvet Joy's Solo Music Activities and Endorsements Following Debut
After her debut in August 2014, Red Velvet Joy carried out activities outside of the group. In July 2017, Joy took part in the singing competition program "The King of Mask Singer" under the alias of "Bandabi."
At that time, she competed with UP10TION Hwanhee. They sang "Photograph" by Apink Kim Namjoo and BTOB Yook Sungjae.
The track was released in 2015 as part of the "'A CUBE' FOR SEASON #BLUE Season 2" album.

Red Velvet Joy successfully made it to the next round of the contest. In the second round, Joy competed with Ock Joo Hyun. She sang "Just in Love" by S.E.S., while Ock sang "Valenti" by BoA. Unfortunately, Joy was unable to take the win after only getting 26 points over 73 points for Ock Joo Hyun.
In 2018, Red Velvet member Joy was chosen as the new model and endorser for Fitz, Lotte's liquor drink. In May 2019, Joy was announced as the official muse for the makeup and skincare products of eSpoir, which belongs to South Korea's top cosmetics conglomerate Amore Pacific.
Last year, Joy was named as the face of Aveda South Korea, a branch of American cosmetics company Aveda Corporation. Then, in February this year, the "Zimzalabim" singer was selected to be the muse of Hogan, an Italian luxury brand belong to the agency Tod's Group, which produces high-end shoes and other leather goods.
