Queen Shows Support for BTS's 'Butter', Fans Speculate a Collaboration
On May 18, KST, BTS dropped their official teaser for their upcoming digital single, "Butter," on their official social media. In the 24-second clip, it features all seven members: Suga, Jin, Jungkook, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and RM standing side-by-side donning fine suits and bopping their heads to a funky tune that is reminiscent of Queen's "Another One Bites The Dust," a classic song that was released in 1980.

Just after 24 hours since the teaser was released, it had already garnered more than 27.2 million views on Youtube, exciting fans all around the world for their new song.
Shortly after BTS released their official teaser, British rock band Queen shared the teaser on their own social media and showed support for the group. In the post, they quoted their lyrics from "Another One Bites The Dust," which seem to hint at a potential collaboration between the two legends, adding in "Another One Bites The Dust x #BTS_Butter."
That simple show of support had fans speculating whether BTS had sampled Queen's "Another One Bites The Dust" or that the two bands will be collaborating. Sampling is a music technique in which a portion of a sound recording is reused, which can either be melody, rhythm, sounds, speech, or bars. These elements can then be manipulated, such as slowing down or speeding it up, equalizing, layering, looped, repitched, and more.

However, it is known that "Butter" is not a sampling of Queen's song, and in regards to a potential collaboration, there is no other information. It seems that Queen just genuinely supported BTS!

"Butter" will be BTS's second all-English song following "Dynamite," which was released in August 2020.
