BTS's "Butter" Exceeds 50 Million Views in Just 6 Hours

On May 21 at 1 pm KST, BTS released the music video for their new digital single, "Butter" that is melting ARMY, BTS's fandom, all around the world!

Released through HYBE Label's Youtube channel, BTS's new hit summer song has already surpassed 50 million views at 7:30pm KST on the same day, just six hours after the release of "Butter," proving their global and domestic popularity!

As of this writing, their music video has garnered more than 63 million views and more than 6.3 million likes in just nine hours!

BTS captured the attention of fans with their dynamic performance, using the lyrics such as "I'll melt your heart into two." In one of the scenes, BTS expressed their love for ARMY by spelling the world using their entire body in the second half of the music video.

Meanwhile, BTS will be making their debut performance for "Butter" at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards on May 23 local time. On May 28, they'll be performing at Good Morning America's 2021 Summer Concert series, making BTS the first performers.

BTS Suga Hopes to Win a Grammy Award

On the same day and time as their "Butter" release, BTS held a global press conference to commemorate the release of their new digital single at the Olympic Hall in Olympic Park, Seoul. During the press conference, BTS talked about their new song, which is a refreshing dance-pop genre, following their first all-English song, "Dynamite."

When talking about how "Butter" will be unveiled for the first time at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards on May 23 local time, Suga said, "The Billboard Music Awards is an awards ceremony with great significance to us. The first stage is always nerve-wracking, but I'm looking forward to it."

This year, BTS is nominated in four categories, setting their own record for the highest nominations in the awards ceremony.

Suga also thanked fans for anticipating the song, and as the weather is heading towards summer, he hopes that many people will enjoy listening to "Butter," which is an exciting song.

Regarding the Grammys, BTS was nominated as the first Korean act in the 2021 Grammy Awards held last March, however, they failed to snag the award. Suga said, "I still have the desire to win a Grammy award. We will try again with "Butter," and hope there are good results."
